  • Patent number: 11454443
Abstract: A method of uniform RF-heating within a chamber is disclosed, which includes cyclically varying electromagnetic properties of a chamber according to a plurality of configuration, transmitting an alternating RF signal about a first frequency range between a first frequency and a second frequency from a transmitter into the chamber, measuring electromagnetic power at a random receiver location in the chamber for each of the plurality of configurations and at a predetermined resolution of frequency thereby generating a statistical distribution vs. frequency, applying a statistical test to the generated statistical distribution based on a predetermined statistical function, determining a standard deviation of the average received power as a function of frequency, choosing a third frequency range associated with a standard deviation lower than a second threshold, and choosing an operational frequency in the third frequency range which provides maximum heating depending on the material being heated.

  • Patent number: 11413378
Abstract: Method consists of placing a flexible container within a rigid frame and expanding the container by pneumatic or hydraulic pressure such that the walls of the container conform to the inside walls of the rigid frame thus forming a well-defined chamber. The system has the capability of reducing the volume of the chamber by adjusting the distance between the walls of the rigid container. The methods and systems so described are applicable to closed sterile systems that employ immunomagnetic isolation or purging of components from blood products. By providing a fixed volume and at least one surface upon which targeted entities can be magnetically deposited, target cells in the case of positive isolations can be magnetically held, flushed with wash buffers over them to remove entrapped cells and finally the recovery of product of very high purifies and at high yields.

  • Patent number: 11369706
Abstract: A sanitizing apparatus for sanitizing sheets, typically currency bills, has a housing defining a sanitizing chamber with an inlet and an outlet for the ingress and egress, respectively, of the currency bills. An intake conveyor conveys the currency bills into the sanitizing chamber into the sanitizing chamber and an outlet conveyor is arranged in the sanitizing chamber along a conveying direction and spaced away from the intake conveyor across a gap therebetween. An upper ultra-violet (UV) lamp is located above the gap and a lower UV light is arranged below the gap. An electrical system causes the upper UV lamp and the lower UV lamp to direct UV light onto an upper surface and a lower surface of the currency bills they are conveyed into the sanitizing chamber and travel across the gap, the UV light being selected to have an intensity to sanitize the currency bills as they pass through the sanitizing apparatus.
