With Latch Rigidly Associated With Manipulator Patents (Class 251/104)
  • Patent number: 4181143
Abstract: An improved valve system for obtaining access to a container of fluid. In a container of fluid, and particularly a keg for beer, a valve assembly receiving member or keg neck extends from the top of the container. A sealing mechanism is provided to secure the valve assembly in sealed relationship with the keg neck and to allow access to the fluid contained by actuation of the valves. More specifically, the valve neck has a groove in its inner surface to receive a resilient retainer ring which maintains the valve assembly in place. In addition, a safety feature is provided to prevent inadvertent expulsion of the valve assembly should the retainer ring be dislodged while the keg is pressurized. A siphon tube extends from the valve assembly to a position adjacent the bottom of the keg when the valve is secured within the keg neck.

  • Patent number: 4126023
Abstract: A latching and locking mechanism for a rotatable control of the type having a stem journaled in a body and rotatable about an axis in a boss on the body. The stem has a protuberance for engagement with a handle. The handle comprises a boss-engaging end portion, a stem-engaging portion, a slider-riding portion, and a grip end portion. The slider-riding portion has a slider with a tang extending therefrom and means for securing a lock to restrict movement of the slider. The boss has surfaces located to correspond to predetermined positions of the stem. These surfaces are engageable by the tang which, when so engaged, restrains the handle from rotation and prevents removal of the handle from the stem.

  • Patent number: 4126294
Abstract: A fabricated adapter valve for mounting on the exterior of a transportation tank for liquid, such as for instance gasoline or oil, providing for coupling with a compatible loading coupler of a loading island, for loading the liquid into the transportation tank. The valve arrangement provides an adapter coupler section having an exterior coupling configuration as defined by the American Petroleum Institute, for universal coupling with loading couplers of a loading station, and a valve which is of smaller size and less weight, having fewer places to leak and possessing fewer parts, and therefore more economical to manufacture, as compared to prior art valve arrangements.

  • Patent number: 4093178
Abstract: A butterfly type valve is provided with an annular sealing ring disposed in a groove in the bevelled periphery of the circular valve plate. The operating shaft is journalled in a radially disposed external boss and an operating handle having a spring biased locking plunger is secured to the shaft. A locking plate having a plurality of locking apertures is adjustably clamped to the boss for operative engagement with the locking plunger on the handle.

  • Patent number: 4073467
Abstract: A mechanically actuated pinch valve for high pressure use which opens to a full round configuration and which closes to a leak tight locked condition. A novel valve actuating mechanism permits the full closure of the valve even with working pressures in the range of 400 psig by a relatively small rotary closing force acting through a 90.degree. arc. A linkage within the valve housing provides a decreasing pinch bar movement with increased actuator rotation so that the maximum mechanical advantage is achieved at the point of valve closure. The thrust of the line pressure, which may be carried on either side of the valve, is borne by bearings at the ends of the pinch bars which ride in grooves in the housing. The actuator automatically locks in the closed position regardless of the direction of the line pressure.

  • Patent number: 3976095
Abstract: In a device of the type having a rotatable operating member for purposes of selective adjustment thereof, a locking structure for selectively locking the device in predetermined positions. The locking structure has a lock plate affixed to the device and includes a locking portion therein. A separate lock tab member is closely received on the operating member and has a tab portion including a third locking hole which will register with one of the first and second locking holes when the operating member is moved to the predetermined positions in order that a locking member may then be passed through the aligned locking holes. Stop members included on the lock tab coact with the device itself to define the extreme rotated positions of the operating member. A handle is closely received over the operating member for conveniently rotating the member and advantageously extends in generally the opposite direction from the tab portion of the lock tab.
