  • Patent number: 12146574
Abstract: A valve in which a small driving force of a drive source is required when the valve is closed. A valve includes a valve housing and a valve body to be driven by a drive source, and controls a flow rate of a fluid flowing through a through-flow passage in a direction opposite a closing direction of the valve body, by moving the valve body from a control region to a closing region. The valve body has an effective pressure-receiving area where a pressure of the fluid acts on the valve body. The effective pressure-receiving area is switched between the effective pressure-receiving area in the control region and the effective pressure-receiving area in the closing region. The effective pressure-receiving area is smaller than the effective pressure-receiving area.

  • Patent number: 5112027
Abstract: A metal diaphragm valve includes a valve casing and an inverted bowl-shaped metal diaphragm made of an elastic material and having a downwardly projecting collar disk made integral with the metal diaphragm in its center. The metal diaphragm defines within the valve casing a valve chamber into which one end of each of a pair of inlet and outlet passages open, with their opposite end being connected to an external pipe system for cleaning fluid. The vertical movement of a valve stem supported in the valve casing causes the metal diaphragm to move into contact with or away from an annular valve seat that is formed above the valve chamber. When the valve stem is forced down, the metal diaphragm is bent downward against its elasticity to bring its collar disk into close contact with the valve seat, closing the valve chamber. When the valve stem is uplifted, the metal diaphragm restores back to its original position, with the collar disk moved away from the valve seat, opening the valve chamber.

  • Patent number: 4858791
Abstract: A bulk material container with an opening has a door arranged to move over a rectilinear path for the opening and the closing of the opening. For moving the door over a rectilinear path to either open or close the opening, a threaded shaft is journalled for rotation within the container and is aligned axially with the center of the door. Means on the threaded shaft engage the door so that the door is moved over the rectilinear path by the rotation of the threaded shaft. A gasket surrounds the opening at the time of closure by the door. Continued rotation of the shaft for the closure of the door will cause the gasket to be compressed against the plate surrounding the opening. Rotation of the door is inhibited while the gasket is being compressed.

  • Patent number: 4585210
Abstract: The valve is particularly designed compatible for use with toxic or highly flammable fluids. It has a hard valve stem tip, such as tungsten carbide which is pushed longitudinally against the valve seat and not rotated into sealing position. The valve is provided with a backseat threaded to the valve body so that if the bonnet or packing nut is very seriously abused by the operator even to the extent of twisting or breaking, the valve will not blow out toxic or flammable fluid. Most of the parts of the valve are made of stainless steel and provisions are made for lubricating the working parts of the valve. Notches in the valve stem and packing nut provide for a safe clean break of these parts in the event they are over stressed.
