Abstract: A slide blind controls flow through conduits at a flanged connection. The slide blind has a right and left working plates configured such that one of the working plates is sealed between the flanges a perimeter thereof adjacent to inner sides of the flange bolts. A joiner member connects the right and left working plates, and handle members extend in right and left directions from the corresponding working plates. The joiner and handle members have a thickness less than the thickness of the right and left working plates. The handle members and the joiner member define first and second sets of bolt holes to fasten the slide blind with either the right or left working plate between the flanges. The joiner and handle members are significantly lighter weight than the working plates, and can be removed for convenient transport.

  • Publication number: 20140061524
Abstract: A valve with at least two active positions is disclosed. When set in a first position, the valve can be connected to a first channel. While set in a second position, the valve can be connected to a second channel. The valve constitutes a part of a structure of a compressor, preferably a compressor in a tire repair kit. The tire repair kit also includes a cassette with a sealing mass. The valve serves as a rotary valve, which, once set in the first position, forms a channel through which compressed air flows to an outlet. Once set in the second position, the rotary valve forms the other channel through which compressed air flows to the cassette with a sealing mass. By using the rotary valve, the compressor is useful not only for connecting to a punctured tire requiring repair, but also for other purposes.

  • Publication number: 20140023460
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to a slit valve door assembly for sealing an opening in a chamber. A slit valve door that is pressed against the chamber to seal the slit valve opening moves with the chamber as the slit valve opening shrinks so that an o-ring pressed between the slit valve door and the chamber may move with the slit valve door and the chamber. Thus, less rubbing of the o-ring against the chamber may occur. With less rubbing, fewer particles may be generated and the o-ring lifetime may be extended. With a longer lifetime for the o-ring, substrate throughput may be increased.

The inner flange defines a vertical elongated opening conformed to engage a pipe or similarly configured conduit, which has a top end and a bottom end. Also provided is a gate valve assembly, including a gate valve, a gate valve housing, and a gate valve handle assembly with a handle attached to an elongated rod at one end and to the gate valve at the other end. The rod with the attached handle extends through the pipe into the hollow housing. The bottom end of the pipe at least partially, if not entirely, encloses the gate valve assembly, or at the very least, the uppermost section of the gate valve housing.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for accurately measuring the weight of a moving stream of particulate material at different flow volumes. The apparatus includes a dynamic measurement device with a deflectable curved pan for measuring the amount of material flowing along a pathway; a supply source for discharging material along the pathway; and a gate valve having an inclined gate member with a leading edge controlling the volume of material discharged from the supply source, the valve reducing the height of discharge of the material above the dynamic measurement device proportional to the increase in the flow volume of material being discharged. A gate valve is also described that includes a gate member with a fully open position and a fully closed position, the valve aperture being open a width determined by the bridging characteristics of the particulate material being discharged when the gate member is in the fully closed position.

Abstract: Provided is an in-line film-forming apparatus capable of opening and closing a gate valve at a high speed while preventing the occurrence of vibration due to the opening and closing of the gate valve. In the in-line film-forming apparatus, immediately before a piston (114) in a cylinder (115) reaches an end in one direction, a second on-off valve (117a) is completely closed and air is exhausted only by a second flow rate-adjusting valve (117b). Immediately before the piston (114) in the cylinder (115) reaches an end in the other direction, a first on-off valve (116a) is completely closed and air is exhausted only by a first flow rate-adjusting valve (116b). In this way, it is possible to reduce impact due to the contact between the end of the cylinder (115) and the piston (114) and prevent the occurrence of vibration.

Abstract: A slide valve, in particular for blocking a line conveying media, is provided with a multi-part housing (2) having a passage opening (3). Disposed in this housing (2) are two slider plates (4, 5), parallel to one another, moveable at right angles to the passage opening (3), and which can be moved from an open position into a closed position tightly blocking the passage opening (3) by means of a common drive mechanism (10). Means are provided for connecting the two slider plates (4, 5) to one another and to the drive mechanism (10), and which in the closed position allow a pre-determined relative movement of the slider plates (4, 5) in relation to one another in their direction of movement. Thus, even with tolerance deviations with regard to the slider plates and/or their counter-surfaces, a long-lasting blocking function of both slider plates is guaranteed.
