Abstract: According to one embodiment, a cladding portion is integrally formed on a sliding-contact surface of a valve rod or a valve body, which serves as a movable member, wherein the cladding portion is formed by inducing a pulsed discharge between an electrode which is formed of a molded body consisting mainly of a metal and a treatment target portion of the valve rod or the valve body, so as to weld and deposit a material of the electrode on a surface of the treatment target portion. A surface layer is integrally formed on a sliding-contact surface of a bushing or a sleeve, which serves as a stationary member, wherein the surface layer is formed by forming a first coating film by surface-hardening heat treatment using a metallic cementation.

Abstract: Tunable check valves reduce valve-generated vibration to increase the reliability of tunable fluid ends. Selected improved designs described herein reflect disparate applications of identical technical principles (relating to, e.g., the vibration spectrum of an impulse). Tunable check valve embodiments comprise a family including, but not limited to, tunable check valve assemblies, tunable valve seats, and tunable radial arrays. Each such tunable embodiment, in turn, contributes to blocking excitation of fluid end resonances, thus reducing the likelihood of fluid end failures associated with fatigue cracking and/or corrosion fatigue. By down-shifting the frequency domain of each valve-closing impulse shock, initial excitation of fluid end resonances is minimized.

Abstract: The invention relates to a control valve, in particular an angle control valve and double control valve, for extreme control applications, preferably for discharge or reduction for hot separators and vacuum distillation columns. The valve piston and the valve head are designed as one piece and consist of tungsten carbide. Furthermore, the control valve comprises different constructions across the entire control valve range. For example, the valve housing, the valve seat and a packing retainer are optionally shaped such that the inner hollow space tapers continuously from the valve inlet to the valve seat, which prevents evaporation upstream of the valve seat. Furthermore, the double control valve consists of a large sub-valve and at least one small sub-valve, wherein the large sub-valve is designed as an adjustable open-closed piston valve and the small sub-valve is designed as a control valve.
