Abstract: This invention relates to the reductive amination of unsaturated cyclic ketones; to cyclic amines prepared thereby; and to uses thereof. For example, when isophorone is reductively aminated, trimethyl cyclohexylamines and cyclohexenamines are obtained. This invention also relates to uses thereof, for example, as fuel additives, particularly for stabilizing distillate fuels.

Abstract: Corrosion inhibitors and preservatives of the following formula ##SPC1##WhereinR.sub.1 is hydrogen;R.sub.2 is selected from the group which consists of hydrogen, the diacetoxypropionic acid methyl ester and the diacetoxypropionic acid dialkylaminoethylamide with 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl group;R.sub.3 is hydrogen, unbranches or branched alkyl with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, carboxyl or alkoxycarbonyl wherein the alkoxy contains from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; andR.sub.4 is hydrogen, unbranched or branched alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms; or acid addition or quaternary ammonium salts thereof.
Abstract: Polyquaternary amines, for example those formed by reacting mono- or polyamines with a polyfunctional compound, for example difunctional compounds such as organohalides, epihalohydrins, etc., which are capable of both quaternizing and extending the molecular weight of the amine; and to uses for these polyquaternaries, particularly as corrosion inhibitors for highly acid systems.
Abstract: Amino compounds are applied to steel and aluminum by direct application and lso from solution, and then subjected to ultraviolet radiation to produce photooxidative polymerization of the coating on the surface of the metal. Adherent thin film polymers are thus produced on the metal which resist wetting and are corrosion resistant to prevent rust or oxidation of the metal.

Abstract: Disclosed is a new class of surface active agents having anti-corrosion and oil-repellent properties and which are N,N'-bis-aminoalkylamides of polyoxaperfluoroalkandioic acids, their quaternary ammonium salts, and the oxides of the amines. A process for the production of said compounds is also disclosed.
Abstract: Packaging material for ferrous metal parts and the like which comprises a substrate of paper stock, transparent film or foil, and having applied thereon a coating comprehending a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor of the nitrite-amide type, and a self-sealable adhesive as from the natural and synthetic latices. The proportion of the inhibitor to the latices in the coating is in the range from 5 to 25 percent by weight depending upon the characteristics of the substrate.

Abstract: Copper and copper alloys are prevented from rust by surface-treating the copper and copper alloys with at least one compound selected from the class consisting of alkylimidazoles represented by the following formula: ##SPC1##Wherein R is a long straight chain alkyl group of 5-21 carbon atoms and R' is hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and their acid addition salts. The compound is used as it is, or in a solution, by dipping, spraying, coating or directly contacting with copper or copper alloy. The surface -treated copper and copper alloy can well withstand tarnishing in an atmosphere containing sulfur compound gas.
Abstract: Use of alkanolamine phosphate ester and at least one member selected from the group consisting of phosphates, phosphonates, and low molecular weight polymers to inhibit the corrosion of metals by oxygen-bearing waters.
