As a solution, an anti-rust composition containing a polybutene-based polymer, a wax having a melting point of 35° C. or higher, and a polyaniline-based polymer is provided.

The inorganic precursor may include a metal or metalloid and two or more hydrolysable groups. The cross-linkable inorganic-organic precursor may include a metal, hydrolysable group, and organic molecule. The cross-linkable organic precursor has another organic molecule with two or more second cross-linking groups. A combination of protic and aprotic solvents in the same solution may be used to control properties of the solutions, thermodynamics, and other processing aspects. The solution may also include nanoparticles. The nanoparticles may include functionalized surface to form covalent bonds with one or more precursors of the solution, such as a plasma treated surface.

Abstract: Provided is a process for chemically modifying wood or non-wood comprising: (a) impregnating said wood or non-wood with an aqueous composition comprising an acid polymerization catalyst; (b) impregnating the wood or non-wood product from step (a) with 3-furfuryl borate (‘3-FB’); and (c) subjecting the wood product from (b) for a time and under conditions to affect polymerization of the 3-FB. Modified wood and non-wood products are also provided.

Abstract: Water treatment compositions are provided that are effective for mitigating corrosion or fouling of surfaces in contact with aqueous systems. The water treatment compositions can include one or more azole compounds, one or more transition metals, and one or more dispersants, in addition to various other additives. The water treatment compositions can exclude phosphorus and still be effective. Methods for mitigating corrosion or fouling of a surface in an aqueous system are also provided.
