Patent number: 4722806Abstract: A branched chain polyalkylenepolyamine ("PAPA") amine having plural amine groups including a secondary amine group intermediate terminal primary amine groups and having at least two carbon atoms between each amine group, is reductively alkylated with a ketone to provide a PAPA alkylated only at an unhindered primary amine group. These compounds give excellent results when tested in lubricants as friction reducing antioxidants or antirust additives.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1983Date of Patent: June 11, 1985Assignee: Mobil Oil CorporationInventors: Andrew G. Horodysky, Richard S. Herd

Patent number: 4522735Abstract: Amines are reacted with phosphorous trichloride to form N-dichlorophosphinoamines that are then reacted with a bisphenol in about equimolar amounts to provide polyphosphoramidite oligomers. The polyphosphoramidite oligomers are effective as stabilizers for polymers such as polyolefins, and form even more efficient stabilizer combinations with hydroxyphenylalkyleneyl isocyanurates.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1983Date of Patent: June 11, 1985Assignee: The B. F. Goodrich CompanyInventor: Dwight W. Chasar

Patent number: 4522629Abstract: Compounds made by reacting a vicinal diol with a hydrocarbyl phosphite and then borating the resulting product have been found to be effective friction reducers when added to lubricants or fuels. This is true in any use of lubricants, but is especially true when they are used in internal combustion engines. In the latter case, the fuels used, when they contain the additive, aid in the reduction of friction in the engine.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1983Date of Patent: June 11, 1985Assignee: Mobil Oil CorporationInventors: Andrew G.
