    Abstract: An improved a system for straightening and/or supporting a wall is provided. The system includes an elongated vertical member and an elongated horizontal member positioned to abut the wall. The elongated horizontal member has a first end and a second end, the former being positioned adjacent to the elongated vertical member. A cinch plate having at least two plates is provided. One of the plates is connected to the elongated vertical member. A driving member can be movably coupled to the other plates of the cinch plate and configured to force the elongated horizontal member to move relative to the elongated vertical member. Movement of the elongated horizontal member applies a corresponding force to the wall. The elongated horizontal member may not be connected to the elongated vertical member, but rather a compressive force applied between the driving member and the wall can vertically support the elongated horizontal member.

    Abstract: It's now accepted that hurricane tie-down straps should be wrapped over the top of rafters/trusses, avoiding the crucial weakening effect of wood splitting around the nails of common side-nailed straps. That “wrap-over” is easy to do during construction but has been difficult and costly to do for existing houses, where the sheathing and roofing is in the way. But now such wrap-over can be an easy retrofit, according to this invention: Without damaging sheathing or roofing, force the sheathing off the rafter/truss just enough to allow a special strap to be pushed through the gap, then proceed much as in new construction. Unique wedge-blade and lever types of devices quickly create just the right gaps.

    Abstract: A hydraulic jack attachment for quickly and safely jacking up high clearance objects in an efficient manner. The hydraulic jack attachment generally includes a base support adapted to be positioned underneath an object to be lifted. The base support includes a footing which includes one or more wheels to aid in repositioning the base support. A linkage tube is interlocked with a lifting member and positioned within the base support. A hydraulic jack may be placed into a lower end of the base support via an access opening. When the hydraulic jack is lifted, it will force the linkage tube and lifting tube upwards. A lifting head positioned on the upper end of the lifting tube will press against and force the object upwardly to jack the object up.

An operator may slide the weight between a first position adjacent the coupler and a second position opposite the coupler to impart kinetic energy to the spindle and/or bearing, thereby removing the bearing from or the bearing installing into a hub, depending on whether the kinetic energy is in an inboard or outboard direction.

    Abstract: In at least one implementation, a tool for a transmission piston assembly having a housing mounted to a transmission case includes a base plate, a reaction member, a connection member and an actuator. The reaction member is fixed in place relative to the transmission case and the connection member is adapted to interconnect the base plate to the housing of the piston assembly. The actuator is adapted to engage the reaction bar and displace the base plate relative to the reaction member to displace the housing relative to the transmission case. In at least some implementations, the amount of movement of the piston assembly may be limited to a threshold or less to prevent damage to the transmission. The actuator, base plate and/or reaction member may be constructed and arranged to provide a stop that ensures the threshold amount of movement is not exceeded.

    Abstract: A trailer jack having a low profile which will not interfere with opening of a towing vehicle's tailgate. The jack has tubes telescopically contained within each other. A threaded rod has a threaded tube slidingly placed over it. The threaded tube has slots and a pin in the threaded rod slides within the slots for synchronous rotation. This provides even extension and retractions for the telescoping tubes relative to each other. The jack has a low profile that extends above the trailer tongue a minimal amount when the jack is extended. When the jack is retracted, no parts of the jack are raised above the tongue. Thus, the tailgate of the towing vehicle may be operated without hitting any part of the jack.
