Abstract: Method for coating a moving metal product strip (1), in which coating material is brought into contact with this product strip, the product strip being brought to a temperature at which the coating material is made to adhere to the product strip while the former is being pressed onto the latter, characterized in that a flexible metal support strip (6) is guided through a virtually straight path alongside this product strip at the same speed as the product strip, in that the coating material is guided over the metal support strip until it is between the product strip and the support strip, the metal support strip being locally pressed towards the metal product strip within the said path, and means being provided, at the location where pressure is exerted for equalizing the compressive force across the width of the metal support strip.
Abstract: A method and device for continuously coating at least a metal strip (1) with a crosslinkable polymer fluid film which is free of non-reactive solvent or diluent, and which has a softening temperature higher than 50° C. The method includes the steps of: continuously unwinding the metal strip (1) on at least a back-up roll (30); forming, by forced flow on an applicator roll (20) having a deformable surface, a layer of the crosslinkable polymer; and forming on the applicator roll (20) the crosslinkable polymer film and transferring the film from the applicator roll onto the metal strip. The device implements this method.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a guidewire having a discrete length. The method includes the steps of feeding a first end of a corewire into an extrusion device, gripping the first end of the corewire with a gripping apparatus, and extruding a first extrusion material onto an outer surface of the corewire while the gripping apparatus pulls the corewire through the extrusion device to form an extrusion jacket on the outer surface of the corewire. The corewire has a predetermined length corresponding to a length of the guidewire.

Abstract: A continuous paste making process for lead acid batteries that includes the steps of mixing water with a lead oxide, reaction an acid with the lead oxide in a mixture to produce lead acid compounds, and forming a paste including interlocking lead acid crystals from the lead acid compounds, where the mixing, reacting, and crystal forming steps occur in an extrusion apparatus. The method also includes the step of extruding the paste from the extrusion apparatus into a grid where the paste is dried to form a battery plate of the lead-acid battery.
Abstract: The invention relates to method for identifying plural relations in a sheet manufacturing process. Sheet properties are deduced from a response in a pseudo-property profile to a cyclic stimulation. A pseudo-property profile is calculated using a phase lag equal to half the stimulation cycle time, with and without stimulation. The properties of the sheet are deduced from the difference between an excited pseudo-property profile and a reference pseudo-property profile.
Abstract: A multi-layer tube comprises a metal tube having an outer surface and a zinc layer bonded to the metal tube outer surface, wherein the zinc layer is selected from the group consisting of zinc plating, zinc nickel alloys, zinc cobalt alloys, zinc aluminum alloys, and mixtures thereof. A surface treatment layer is bonded to the zinc layer, wherein the surface treatment layer is selected from the group consisting of a zinc/aluminum/rare earth alloy, phosphate, chromate and mixtures thereof. A first polymeric layer is bonded to the surface treatment layer, wherein the first polymeric layer is selected from the group consisting of a thermoplastic elastomer, an ionomer, a nylon, a fluoropolymer, and mixtures thereof. A second polymeric layer is bonded to the first polymeric layer, wherein the second polymeric layer is selected from the group consisting of a nylon, a thermoplastic elastomer, a fluoropolymer, and mixtures thereof.
