Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing an oriented thermoplastic polyester resin sheet which is excellent in tensile strength, tencile modulas and heat resistance, and a light laminate-molded body using the same, which has a low linear expansion coefficient and is excellent in impact resistance, durability, easiness of handling, productivity, and others. A process for producing an oriented thermoplastic polyester resin sheet, which includes: pultrusion-drawing a thermoplastic polyester resin sheet in an amorphous state at a temperature from the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic polyester resin ?20° C. to the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic polyester resin +20° C.; and then drawing the resultant uniaxially at a temperature higher than the temperature for the pultrusion-drawing. A laminate-molded body, wherein a thermoplastic resin layer is laminated on each of the surfaces of the resultant oriented thermoplastic polyester resin sheet.
Abstract: A polyethylene terephthalate monofilament obtained by spinning a polyethylene terephthalate chip having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.8 to 1.3, which gives a stress-strain curve exhibiting an elongation of less than 2.5% at an initial stress of 2.0 g/d, with an initial modulus value of 80 to 160 g/d, an elongation of 7.5% or less in a stress range of from 2.0 g/d to 9.0 g/d, and an elongation of at least 2.0% or more in a stress range of from 10.0 g/d to the point of break, is provided.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a cutting filament for a device used to cut vegetation such as a trimmer or border cutter. The filament is made of a synthetic material having extended molecular chains. According to the invention, (a) the filament is brought to a controlled viscous state, (b) the filament is stretched according to the length thereof in order to perform a first longitudinal molecular orientation, (c) a cross-sectional change, resulting in a partial reorientation of molecular chains in a transversal direction, is imposed upon the filament, whereupon filaments having multiple molecular orientations are produced, having improved mechanical properties (e.g. a better resistance to tearing).
Abstract: Necked nonwoven webs having improved cross-directional uniformity are made by a process which includes the step (prior to neck stretching) of corrugating the nonwoven web to reduce its width from an initial width A to a reduced corrugated width B. The cross-directional uniformity is optimized as the corrugated width B approaches the ultimate width C of the necked nonwoven web.
Abstract: An elasticity-processing method for wet suit fabric pieces is disclosed, by which a wet suit fabric piece laminated with a knitted high-elastic cloth is pressed tightly with two sets of rubber squeeze rollers under different rotation speeds to cause an expansion effect on the fabric piece, separate and destroy the weave circle of the weave of the knitted cloth and produce an elasticity to the whole piece of the fabric. In comparison with the conventional low-elastic and high-modulus wet suit fabric pieces, the fabric pieces made with such a process has a high elasticity and low modulus, and is capable to improve the elasticity of wet suits in professional applications. The wet suits made of such fabric are more fitted, softer and more comfortable.
