Patent number: 7497217Abstract: Method for making a filter cartridge that is suitable for attachment to a respiratory mask. The method comprises the steps of (a) providing a mass of filter material; (b) providing a filter cartridge housing that has an inlet and outlet and a sidewall that includes sheet material; and (c) thermoforming the sheet material of the housing sidewall around at least part of the mass of filter material to place the housing sidewall in direct contact with the mass of filter material to encapsulate the filter material so that fluid is prevented from passing through the filter cartridge from the inlet to the outlet without being filtered by the mass of filter material.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2005Date of Patent: March 3, 2009Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: Andrew S. Publication number: 20080036110Abstract: A method of fabricating a plurality of seat elements is provided. The plurality of seat elements are styled to have a range of styling features. The method includes a step of determining the range of styling feature by selecting characteristics of a middle ply of foam and/or the exterior ply of the trim cover and selecting a number and position of panels that are sewn to form the trim cover. The seat elements are fabricated on a common mold apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2007Publication date: February 14, 2008Inventors: David Brooker, Larry F. Patent number: 7005092Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing an interior trim panel assembly having an integrated soft-touch area for improved aesthetic trim component quality. The method of manufacturing a trim panel assembly for the interior of a vehicle having an integrated soft-touch area of the present invention includes placing a molded trim panel including a coverstock having an exposed outer surface and a foam backing disposed opposite the outer surface and a rigid substrate having at least one aperture bonded to the coverstock into a mold cavity. The method of manufacture further includes separating the bonded coverstock and rigid polymer substrate in a localized area to define an internal chamber accessible by the aperture. The method of manufacture also includes injecting soft foam into the internal chamber through the aperture so as to be juxtaposed between the coverstock and the rigid polymer substrate in at least one predetermined location to define an integrated soft-touch area.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2003Date of Patent: February 28, 2006Assignee: Lear CorporationInventors: David James Dooley, Mark Fero

Patent number: 6984349Abstract: A manufacturing method for a refrigerator door is disclosed. The method uses only a transparent plastic layer to make the refrigerator door. The present invention can simplify the manufacturing process, and reduce the number of parts required for the refrigerator door to reduce costs. Furthermore, an appearance pattern on the refrigerator door can be painted or printed onto the surface of the transparent plastic layer with different types, and a male mold of a vacuum forming machine can provide different shapes to make the refrigerator door into variety shapes. Moreover, because the appearance pattern can be painted or printed on the inner surface of the transparent plastic layer, the appearance pattern will not come off because of frequent touching.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2003Date of Patent: January 10, 2006Assignee: Tatung Co., Ltd.Inventors: Sheng-Hann Sheh, Ching-Lung Tsai
