  • Patent number: 10351272
Abstract: A system for filling a blow-fill-seal (BFS) container is provided. The system includes a first fluid circuit constructed to selectively deliver a purge fluid to an open BFS container. A second fluid circuit selectively delivers a product to the open BFS container. A third fluid circuit, having a vent line in fluid communication with the open BFS container and to the ambient, directs a bulk fluid comprising at least the purge fluid from the container when the purge fluid is introduced into the BFS container. The second circuit selectively delivers product when the first fluid circuit selectively does not deliver the purge fluid, and the second circuit selectively does not deliver product when the first circuit selectively delivers the purge fluid.

Abstract: A method of forming a plastic container from a preform. The method comprises injecting a forming liquid into the preform at a predetermined system pressure range, a predetermined flow rate, and a predetermined duration sufficient to create a pressure spike at a peak pressure. The peak pressure being greater than the system pressure to urge the preform into the mold cavity, thus creating enhanced container definition, reduced post mold shrinkage, lower residual material stresses, and/or an improved transfer of the mold geometry and engraving to the final formed container.

  • Patent number: 8313686
Abstract: Accordingly, the present disclosure provides a container and method of making a container. In one example, a preform is disposed into a mold cavity having a base forming assembly. The base forming assembly includes a base insert and a movable ring insert. The preform is blown against the mold cavity to form a body defining a base portion. The movable ring insert is advanced into the base portion to form a thinned flex point in the base portion while keeping the base insert fixed. The container is hot-filled with a commodity. The commodity is allowed to cool causing a vacuum in the container that results in the upward movement or inversion of a central inset portion defined at the thinned flex point.

  • Patent number: 8241552
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for producing a composite component, a tubular hollow section blank is placed into a die cavity of a combination tool comprising an inner high-pressure shaping tool and an injection-molding tool. The combination tool is filled with a fluid in such a way that the blank is wetted from the inside by the fluid, and the ends of the combination tool are sealed by two axial molding plugs. The filled blank is then expanded under pressure . The finished hollow section is plastic-coated in the same tool. The hollow section is emptied after shaping in the sealed state, at least until it is no longer dripping, the pressurized fluid being expelled under pressure from the hollow section through at least one discharge channel formed in the axial molding plugs.

Abstract: The method and the apparatus are used for blow molding and for filling containers. To this end, after a thermal conditioning step, a preform is shaped into a container using blowing pressure inside a blow molding tool. The blow molded containers are positioned at least along part of the transport path thereof by a carrying element, which is held by a rotating transfer wheel. The transfer wheel provides at least part of a coupling between a blow molding module for producing the containers and a filling module for filling the containers. An outfeed wheel of the blow molding module can be arranged in a transport direction of the containers upstream of the transfer wheel, and an infeed wheel of the filling module can be arranged in said transport direction downstream of the transfer wheel, wherein each wheel can be equipped with carrying elements for the containers. The number of carrying elements (42) in the region of the transfer wheel (41) is varied in accordance with a production speed.

The microwave radiation is produced in a microwave source (7) on the outside of the combustion chamber (5). The introduced microwave radiation is absorbed by the fuel distributed in the combustion chamber (5). The supply of energy, in the fuel, arising from absorption, distributes combustion in a large-volume in the combustion chamber (5), preferably in the entire combustion chamber (5) and in a homogenous manner, and is essentially simultaneously ignited. Abstract: An apparatus and method for simultaneously forming and filling a plastic container is provided. A mold cavity defines an internal surface and is adapted to accept a preform. A pressure source includes an inlet and a piston-like device. The piston-like device is moveable in a first direction wherein liquid is drawn into the pressure source through the inlet and in a second direction wherein the liquid is urged toward the preform. A blow nozzle may be adapted to receive the liquid from the pressure source and transfer the liquid at high pressure into the preform thereby urging the preform to expand toward the internal surface of the mold cavity and creating a resultant container. The liquid remains within the container as an end product.
