Diverse Types Of Superposed Metallic Springs Patents (Class 267/86)
  • Patent number: 8800979
Abstract: The mattress assemblies have an array of springs extending from a sheet. Each spring in the array may be manufactured by choosing a position for the spring, cutting a profile of the sheet spring in the sheet, peeling back or bending the profile or tab of the sheet, and shaping the profile to form the sheet spring. The array of springs may be formed from creating a plurality of such springs along rows and columns. In certain embodiments, multiple sheets may be stacked to form the sheet spring array.

  • Publication number: 20070235269
Abstract: A motion-restraint arrangement (48) with elongate lines of elements (10), wherein each line of elements (10) has a number of individual elements (12) which can be erected by spring elements (20) from a small-volume thin storage condition into a large-volume active condition. Each respective individual element (12) has flexible lateral edge elements (16, 18), which in the active condition define a parallelepiped. The spring elements (20) extend in spatially diagonal relationship between the corners (22) of the respective parallelepiped (14). A motion-restraint arrangement (48) which is easy and inexpensive to produce and which has optimum restraint properties is obtained in that the spatially diagonal spring elements (20) are formed by spring wires (24), which extend in a zigzag shape in the longitudinal direction of the respective line of elements (10).

  • Patent number: 7181796
Abstract: A mattress spring structure (10) is provided with a strengthened central area (C) thereon to provide greater support for a user's body lumbar region when received thereon. The support is provided with a strengthening structure (30) having a continuous frame member (54) and a strengthening pattern (53). The continuous frame (54) encircles coil springs (12) over a major expanse of the mattress's central area (C); this frame is connected to mattress coils along the frames longitudinal (34, 36) and traverse (38, 40) segments. The strengthening pattern (53) has two metal bars (51, 52) arranged inside and connected to the continuous frame member (54). The strengthening pattern (53) may be connected to the spring coils (12) and contain additional metal straps (56, 59).

  • Patent number: 5785303
Abstract: This invention relates to a spring core of leaf springs for mattresses and seat cushions. According to the invention, the spring core comprises at least two plates opposite each other, having a multiplicity of spring elements broken out of holes. Preferably, the spring elements of the opposite plates are mirror-images.

  • Patent number: 5130950
Abstract: Pulse echo apparatus and methods are disclosed for measuring characteristics of a borehole while it is being drilled. A component of a bottomhole assembly, preferably a drilling collar, is provided with one or more ultra-sonic transceivers. A pulse echo sensor of the transceiver is preferably placed in a stabilizer fin of the collar, but may also be placed in the wall of the collar, preferably close to a stabilizing fin. Electronic processing and control circuitry for the pulse-echo sensor is provided in an electronic module placed within such collar. Such pulse echo apparatus, which preferably includes two diametrically opposed transceivers, generates signals from which standoff from a borehole wall may be determined. A method and apparatus are provided for measuring standoff and borehole diameter in the presence of drilling cuttings entrained in the drilling fluid. In a preferred embodiment, such signals are assessed by the electronic processing and control circuity to determine if gas has entered borehole.

  • Patent number: 4872227
Abstract: A spring module for a mattress box spring is formed of a stiffening element made of a sinuously-shaped spring wire and an attachment clip for attaching the spring module to a frame of a box spring, the length of wire being resiliently bent into a circular form and held in the circular form by opposite end portions of the length of wire being engaged with the attachement spring clip. In accordance with the preferred embodiment, the attachment clip is formed of a plate having a pair of notches at opposite lateral sides thereof that receive a respective end portion of each of opposite ends of the circularly bent length of wire with the plate passing through terminal undulations of the sinuous shape located at these opposite end portions. Furthermore, for enabling the plate to grasp respective wires of a wire frame of a mattress box spring, each of opposite longitudinal ends of the plate is provided with a central offset tongue.

  • Patent number: 4778159
Abstract: A range spring assembly for a differential pressure responsive device which includes a spring retainer plate configured for coaction with a movable portion of a device, such as a bellows or diaphragm. A flat spiral spring in spaced relation to the retainer plate is provided with a clamp disc. A plurality of helical range springs are equiangularly disposed about a circumference inwardly of the periphery of the retainer plate, each of the range springs having a first end thereof securely attached to the retainer plate adjacent the center thereof, with the other ends being selectively attachable to the clamp disc, whereby the range may be readily established by locking one or more ends of the helical springs for providing the desired spring bias for the selected range.
