Abstract: Disclosed herein is a spring structure having a contact-preventing and rigidity-reinforcing function for a bed mattress in which the structure of a connection end portion for connecting a body spring and an exposure wire spring to each other is improved such that the connection end portion is not in close contact with an uppermost winding and/or a lowermost winding of the body spring and such that when a load is exerted to an exposure wire spring a displacement is prevented from being generated in which the exposure wire spring is leaned to one side, and rigidity of the spring is reinforced so that the exposure wire spring ascends/descends vertically only, thereby easily preventing the lateral displacement and deformation of the spring along with a prevention of a noise due to a frictional contact to prolong the lifespan of the spring.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a spring structure for a bed mattress which comprises a body spring formed in a coil shape, upper and lower end springs wound and extending horizontally at upper and lower portions of the body spring, an exposure wire spring formed integrally with the upper end spring in such a fashion as to be disposed above the upper end spring, and a connection end portion for integrally connecting the upper end spring and the exposure wire spring to each other, wherein a first contact-preventing end 30 is formed at the connection end portion in such a fashion as to be bent inclinedly upwardly from a distal end of the upper end spring positioned outwardly from an uppermost winding of the body spring.
Abstract: An edge support system for a mattress foundation. The edge support system includes a pair of torsion elements, each including a central torsion segment, with the torsion segments being secured to one another, and with the torsion elements being formed as mirror images of one another, with legs being attached to the top and bottom border members of the mattress foundation. A secondary expansion spring is connected between the attached torsion segments and an intermediate rod located midway between the border members of the foundation. The gauge of the wire forming the torsion elements and the strength of the expansion spring determine the amount of support by the edge support system. A plurality of the system can be spaced about the periphery of the foundation to provide greater firmness in areas needing enhanced stiffness.
Abstract: A spring cushion structure with a plurality of hour-glass shaped spring coils arranged in columns and rows with adjacent springs within a row connected at the top and bottom by a helical wire extending between adjacent columns and with the marginal coils attached at the top to a border wire extending around the assembly. A transparent sheet is placed between the bottoms of the assembly and support sinuous wires which are bent to provide an upwardly extending integral suspending arm and bent again to provide an outwardly extending shepherd hook shaped attachment arm which is attached to a wood frame surrounding the periphery of the entire structure.
Abstract: A coil seat spring assembly wherein spring coils are mounted on a plurality of sinuous spring bands extending between the front and back rails of a furniture seat frame. The axes of the coils are substantially vertical. The coils on each band are clamped to each other and to adjacent coils and adjacent bands at their uppermost coil turns and at their lowermost coil turns. The coils are approximately two-thirds the axial length of conventional coil springs.
