Hand Maneuvered Or Work Supported Tool Guides Patents (Class 269/1)
  • Patent number: 4615073
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for restricting the relative movement of the separated sections of an initially unitary body. The present invention is particularly useful in a device and method for restraining or restricting the initial movement of the upper portion of a tree, post or similar body to two degrees of freedom immediately after it has been severed from the remaining stationary portion of the body. A device in accord with the present invention comprises first and second rigid members pivotally joined or hinged together. The device further comprises a plurality of contact surfaces or feet for contacting the limb wherein the contact surfaces are displaced from the rigid members. Finally, the device comprises devices for attaching the rigid members to the limb both above and below the proposed point of severance. Most preferably, the attachment devices are adjustable to permit attachment to a limb having a variety of shapes.

  • Patent number: 4608898
Abstract: A unitized saw guide and protractor assembly includes workpiece locator tabs whereby the assembly and workpiece can be hand-held safely for making a precision workpiece cut at a required angle by means of a saber saw. The same saw guide and protractor assembly is employed with a platform on which the assembly rests with its workpiece locator tabs engaged within slots of the platform which lock the assembly and platform together in a precision use mode to create a miter box, said tabs again contacting and positioning a hand-held workpiece for cutting. The saw guide and protractor assembly is used in a third mode with a vise equipped framing base as a miter machine where again the locator tabs engage a face of the workpiece to position the saw guide and protractor assembly with precision. A simplified highly versatile and very economical apparatus is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4497476
Abstract: A device for supporting a circular disc to be cemented in an opening in a rigid plate-like member, such as a pane of plate glass, comprises a support frame, a first set of legs around the perimeter of said frame, and a second set of legs spaced inwardly from said first set of legs. All of said legs are terminated along the same plane spaced from the frame member. A support element has a suction cup to hold a rigid plug having a diameter less than the area circumscribed by the first legs, and greater than the area circumscribed by the second legs. A spring resiliently urges the plug against the ends of the second legs so that a surface of the plug lies in said plane. The frame is held against the pane or plate like member so that one surface of the plate member also lies in said plane and the plug can be held in the hole with one surface exactly parallel in a plane coincident with the plane of the plate.

  • Patent number: 4390309
Abstract: A cradle type adaptor for a magnet base drill which includes a box having a width slightly smaller than the width of the magnet base of the drill so that it can be assembled to the magnetic base by a clamping action. The box includes a pair of longitudinal sides and a pair of end sides. A front and rear vertically adjustable plate is adjustably mounted on the front and rear sides of the box. The front and rear adjustable plates have a V-slot in the lower ends thereof. The lower end of each of the longitudinal sides of the box is formed at an oblique angle so that the adjustable side plates may be adjustably mounted thereon for mounting the cradle pipe adaptor on a small size diameter pipe.
