Plural Means For One Jaw Patents (Class 269/221)
  • Patent number: 11897070
Abstract: A method and apparatus to provide a machining table in which an article can be secured to the table. The table provides a plurality of clamp blocks which can be placed on the table in custom positions. The orientation of the clamp blocks can also be adjusted by adjustments bolts so that the desired angle of the article can be maintained before machining it. As such, a round article (e.g., a pipe) can be secured through the clamp blocks so that the article can be machined. The table would secure the article such that even a lot of force or pressure on the article would not cause the article to move.

This push plate is movable between a first position, in which both of the threaded portions are engaged with the rods and manual rotation of the handles moves the second jaw along the threaded rods, and a second position, in which both of the threaded portions are disengaged from the threaded rods and the threaded rods are free to slide past the slidable portions without rotation of the threaded rods.

  • Patent number: 5265854
Abstract: A hand tool or clamp, which locks itself to a work-piece to thereby free the hands of the user, includes a fixed jaw secured to one end of a slide bar and a movable jaw mounted to the slide bar for movement therealong toward and away from the fixed jaw. The movable jaw is normally spring-biased toward the fixed jaw by a flat coil spring supported on the fixed jaw and connected at its free end to the movable jaw. The spring is uncoiled as the jaws are pulled apart to receive a work-piece, and when either jaw is released, rewinds and rapidly advances the movable jaw along the slide bar into clamping engagement with the work-piece. Additional clamping pressure is provided by a screw mechanism associated with the movable jaw which cooperates with the slide bar to advance the movable jaw toward the fixed jaw and increase the clamping pressure between them.
