Abstract: A mounting assistance device with which a vibrating device can be efficiently mounted to a tire and wheel assembly. In the mounting assistance device, abutting portions are made to abut against sidewall portions of a tire and then an eccentric disc is pressed against a sliding portion so as to be united therewith by lowering a lever of a handle member in a first direction. In this state, when the lever is rotated 180° about a pin member in a second direction, due to an effect of the eccentric disc, clamping members move in a mutually approaching direction. Accordingly, clamping and fixing to the tire is accomplished by the mounting assistance device. Thus, the mounting assistance device (and vibrating device) can be mounted without using tools, simply by rotating the lever in the two directions.

  • Patent number: 6158730
Abstract: ABSTRACT A mechanical clamp for securing a workpiece according to the invention includes a clamp plate having an end for engaging a workpiece and a fulcrum spaced apart from said end. A pivotal handle is pivotally connected to said clamp plate by a connecting rod. A base plate is disposed intermediate the pivotal handle and includes a slot therethrough for receiving the connecting rod. The cam surface of the pivotal handle selectively engages the base plate to cause the clamping force at the end for engaging said workpiece. The fulcrum concentrates that clamping force at the end of the clamp plate.

  • Patent number: 6116588
Abstract: A clamping device includes a clamp arm (2), an operating lever (3) for pivotally operating the clamp arm (2), and a toggle mechanism (T) provided in connection with the operating lever (3). The clamp arm (2) is formed with a guide path (2a) that intersects a direction in which the clamp arm (2) pivots so that an output member (9) of the toggle mechanism (T) is guided along the guide path (2a). Accordingly, workpieces (W) of heights that can vary over a wide range of up to several centimeters can be firmly fixed without the necessity of performing a troublesome adjustment operation.

  • Patent number: 6105949
Abstract: A workpiece indexing and clamping system for machining the workpiece. Spherical or narrow cylindrical heads of index pins extend from holes in a base plate into workpiece holes to align and index the workpiece. The pin portions in the base plate holes can be expanded to lock them to the base plate. Each pin has relief flats parallel to the pin axis. Clamps engage workpiece edges with thread-like angled grooves on a cam surface to force workpiece edges against the base plate during machining of the workpiece. A central clamp has a pin extending from the base plate into a workpiece hole. Angled grooves in a cam surface are brought into contact with the hole sides to force the workpiece toward the base plate and hold the central area in place during machining.

  • Patent number: 6027106
Abstract: A clamp apparatus having a locking body with a tapered lower cam surface, and a stationary mounting member on which the locking body is rotatably mounted. The cam surface is substantially perpendicular to the rotational axis of the locking body to provide a large cam surface area for secure locking and holding of workpieces. A cutout portion on the locking body defines an open position wherein a workpiece can be positioned adjacent to or removed from the clamp apparatus. When the locking body is rotated into a locking position, the tapered cam surface engages and clamps the workpiece beneath the locking body to secure the workpiece in place. A stop or stops on the mounting member prevents the locking body from rotatably moving into unwanted positions. A resilient O-ring positioned between the mounting member and locking body provides traction therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5988615
Abstract: A device for fixing an object to the edge of a flat support, the support having a top face on which the object is to be fixed and a lower face. A vertical section piece, positionable close to the edge of the support, is perpendicular to the plane of the support. The upper end of the section piece has an element which engages and holds the object on the top face of the support, e.g. rods projecting into a cavity in the object. An arm extending perpendicular to the section piece supports at one end thereof a cam for being selectively moved to press against and released from pressing against the lower face of the support. The section piece passes through an opening in the arm and the arm with the cam thereon is tiltable with reference to the section piece for locking the arm along the section piece. A lever then rotates the cam to press against the lower face of the support.

  • Patent number: 5968403
Abstract: A waler system includes a number of clamps each of which has a lower leg including a tab with a hole therein which is secured to the wall form of a poured concrete wall system by a standard pin connection. An upper leg of the clamp translates between a loading/unloading position so that a waler beam can be installed easily and conveniently on the clamp attached to the wall form. Each of the clamps is then simply translated into the clamping position by forcing the upper leg downwardly and inwardly toward the beam and the wall form. After the concrete has been poured and the wall cured, the waler system can be disassembled by simply translating the upper leg of each clamp upwardly and outwardly to disengage the waler beam. The transformation is assisted by a spring captured within the upper leg of each clamp.
