Coil Spring Patents (Class 269/254CS)
  • Patent number: 3941363
Abstract: A positioning clamp for holding a workpiece properly oriented with respect to a work station adjacent the clamp. The clamp disclosed releasably holds saw chain during an operation such as grinding of a cutter in the chain. The clamp is releasable to permit the saw chain to be advanced in steps along a channel defined between jaw margins in the clamp. These jaw margins include portions which face each other, and that come against opposite sides of the saw chain when clamping it, which are shaped to complement the shape of the rivet ends usually provided in saw chain to hold it together. One jaw member is mounted for pivotal movement toward and away from the other to effect clamping and release positioning through a ball pivot. The jaw members are biased toward each other to exert a clamping pressure, and selectively operable means is provided for swinging the jaw members away from each other to produce release.

  • Patent number: 3933238
Abstract: In an endless flexible belt carrier mechanism for transporting workpieces, shield assemblies are inserted in the spaces between individual work holders in order to protect the mechanism from damage caused by debris falling between work holders into the mechanism. The shield assembly includes a pair of shield members, each shield member snugly abutting the adjacent work holder and biased outwardly to maintain close contact with the work holder when the flexible belt passes around a circular path.

  • Patent number: 3930644
Abstract: A carrier adjustable in size for holding various sized printed circuit boards during manufacturing procedures including installation of components fluxing, soldering, trimming and the like and includes a frame having conveyor engaging members mounted thereon. Laterally spaced carrier side members are adjustably supported on the frame and are adapted to support respective side edge portions of the printed circuit board. Longitudinally spaced carrier end members are adjustably supported on the frame and are adapted to support respective end edge portions of the printed circuit board. The conveyor engaging members of the frame are adapted to support the carrier on a support surface and to permit vertical stacking of like carriers.
