Abstract: A device is provided to harvest bone grafts. The device generally consists of two pieces: an auger-type drill bit and a guide. The guide may have arms, etc., to keep the guide in place along a bone, and also may have a pivotable drill guide for the drill bit to be inserted. The auger drill bit may include a shoulder that acts as a depth guide to prevent the drill from extending too deep into bone. The device may be used to make multiple passes through a bone using only one drill hole. A method for harvesting bone graft is also provided.
Abstract: A stamp-face platemaking device transports a medium holder inserted into a plate insertion portion to a printing unit. The medium holder holds a stamp face material at a center portion of a plate-like member, and has a cutout portion in one side end portion thereof. An optical sensor detects the top end portion of the medium holder on a sensor scanning line in the inserting direction, and the cutout start point and the cutout end point of the cutout portion. The size of the stamp face material in the inserting direction and/or the size of the stamp face material in a direction perpendicular to the inserting direction are set based on the positions of two of the detected end portions. When the cutout end point is detected, platemaking with the stamp face material is started. The cutout portion can have a wedge-like shape or a U-shape, or can change its positions and/or sizes.
Abstract: A bush assembly comprising a component having a bore, a bush fitted in the bore and having a flange that extends radially outwardly over a surface of the component surrounding the bore, and a seal assembly for sealing the interface between the flange and the surface of the component, wherein the seal assembly includes a seal member and a layer of sealant between the seal member and the interface between the flange and the surface of the component. Also a method for sealing a bush, a kit of parts for forming a bush assembly, and a clamping tool for forming a bush assembly.

Abstract: The device is used to retain workpieces, has a tong-like design, and is provided with two tong arms. The tong arms are retained by a tong base and can be arranged at least in an open position and in a closed position. The tong base is retained by a main element. When a specified actuating force is applied, the tong base is released and can be pivoted relative to the main element within a certain range. Respectively one movable counter-element is arranged adjacent to two lateral surfaces of the tong base. The counter-elements are retained in a starting position by means of at least one spring.

Abstract: An apparatus for replacing or changing a shaving blade secured or securable to a blade holder beam of an ice resurfacing machine via a plurality of screws, and including a blade carrier. For each of the screws, the blade carrier is provided with a respective fixing element configured to cooperate with a head of that screw. The fixing elements reliably fix these screws in a prescribed position.
Abstract: A portable surgical workstation for implant formation comprising a base with a central planar section. The central planar section has a plurality of tracks and a throughgoing slot with a recessed stepped surrounding surface formed on a bottom surface of the central planar section. A vise assembly mounted to the base comprises a fixed jaw member secured to the base, a traveling jaw member moveably mounted to the base and a fixed drive housing mounted to the base. The traveling jaw member has a plurality of rail members adapted to be slidably mounted in the central planar section tracks. The fixed drive housing has a threaded longitudinal bore which receives a threaded drive shaft, one end of the drive shaft being secured in the traveling jaw member to transport the traveling jaw member.

Abstract: A method for forming a hollow FRP article by internal pressure molding includes positioning a FRP prepreg on a periphery of an airtight internal-pressure holding tube, inserting a composite body including the internal-pressure holding tube and the prepreg into a vacuum chamber containing a forming die, evacuating the vacuum chamber in an isolation state where the composite body and the forming die do not contact each other, and clamping the forming die to bring the forming die and the composite body into contact with each other and heating the forming die with an application of pressure to an inside of the internal-pressure holding tube after completion of the evacuating step.
Abstract: A purge gas introduction system for an orbital tube welding setup is provided, configured to inject high purity inert purge gas to the interior volume of a tube or tubular component. An o-ring is interposed between an annular base and an annular ring, their junction forming an annular o-ring groove, each part forming one sidewall, with the o-ring fully recessed within the groove, protecting the o-ring during the insertion and removal of a tube. The annular base and an annular ring are configured to receive a tube terminus. The sidewalls of the o-ring groove are divergent one to the other, wherein as the annular ring is drawn towards the annular base, the o-ring is forced partially out of the groove, forming a substantially leak tight seal between the tube and the o-ring. A purge gas from an external source is transmitted to the annular base through a purge connector, then, in turn, introduced to the interior volume of the tube.

Abstract: A clip for coupling a surgical tool and a scope. The clip includes a first grip having a first radial center and a first diameter, the first grip is configured to engage an outer surface of the tool. Additionally, there is provided a second grip having a second radial center and a second diameter, the second grip is configured to engage an outer surface of the scope. Further, the second grip may be provided between the first grip and a bottom opening of the clip; and the first and second grips may be provided next to each other such that the first radial center of the first grip is radially spaced from the second radial center of the second grip. Additionally, the first diameter of the first grip may be larger than the second diameter of the second grip.
Abstract: The tool holder is designed to hold an object rigidly in place, at a strategic location, with the benefits of simplicity of placement and easy removal. There are two basic parts: base assembly and the tool mount assembly that mates with it. A spring loaded, cam activated piston locks the pieces together. A non-locking internal conical taper permits 360 degree rotation. A handle mounted on the side activates the camming mechanism to lock the tool or object rigidly in place, being secured to the tool mounting surface.
Abstract: A device for facilitating the welding together of pieces of welding wire comprises a pair of complementary vise units which are connected together for relative linear movement and are spring-loaded toward a limit position in contact with each other. In use, two pieces of welding wire are clamped in the respective vise units in such relative positions that they are in end to end contact while the vise units are separated from their limit position against their spring loading. Welding current is then applied to the junction of the wires until they are sufficiently softened for the spring-loading of the device to force their softened ends together and thereby to complete the welded joint therebetween.
Abstract: A clamp comprising a plurality of pivotally related members and a plurality of jaw elements, each secured at the yoke portion thereof to a pivotally related member. From the free ends of each of the leg portions of the jaw element immediately below the uppermost jaw element are flat extension members, each extension member having two flat portions. The first portions extend upwardly from the jaw element immediately below the uppermost jaw element to a location above the uppermost jaw element. The second portion is essentially perpendicular to the first portion and located above the uppermost jaw element and aligned with the uppermost jaw element for clamping engagement with a work piece. This clamp is particularly useful for metal constructions which have a lip.
Abstract: Apparatus for adjusting two butt-ends of rails to be connected by welding comprises a rigid structure having two aligned support plates one for each rail. Each support plate comprises a non-adjustable retaining press and an adjustable retaining press. The fixed jaws of one of each of the presses are intended to be placed on the side of the head of one of the rails and the fixed jaws of the other presses are intended to be placed on the corresponding side of the head of the other rail thus forming four spaced supports. The movable jaws of the presses for the one rail are intended to be placed on the opposite side of the head of this rail and the movable jaws of the presses for the other rail are intended to be placed on the opposite side of the head of the other rail.
Abstract: A tool adapted for use by a pipefitter in welding a length of pipe to a fitting in which one end of the pipe is accommodated with a predetermined spacing between the end of the pipe and an internal shoulder within the fitting. The tool has jaws which may be clamped on the pipe when the end of the latter is in abutting engagement with the shoulder of the fitting and includes spacers that are movable to a position between the jaws and the end of the fitting to provide a predetermined spacing between the free end of the pipe and the shoulder of the fitting. The tool also includes scribers for marking the pipe and the fitting in such manner as to facilitate verifying that such gap has been provided between the end of the pipe and the shoulder of the fitting.
Abstract: Radial cutting of a flat workpiece having any shape can be accomplished in a facile manner with the provided holding device. The holding device has two holding blocks and an attachment means to attach the holding blocks in matched configuration. Each holding block on its inner face has a depression which begins at a peripheral surface of each holding block and extends to the interior of the holding block but not to the outer face of the holding block. The depression has a shape comparable to a workpiece so that when the holding blocks are attached to hold a workpiece in the depressions, the two depressions form a cavity to contain the workpiece with pressure to securely hold a vertical portion of the volume of the workpiece. Each depression holds a horizontal portion of the volume of the workpiece and the remaining horizontal portion of the volume of the workpiece not contained in the depression of the first holding block can be contained in the depression of the second holding block.

Abstract: A device for the accurate positioning of the LWL fiber ends of LWL components, particularly of LWL switches and plug connectors in which a support surface is provided with a guide slot arranged at right angles to the surface for receiving the support part of LWL fiber ends. The accurate positioning of the LWL fiber ends takes place by means of a sliding part which presses the LWL fiber ends by spring force against the support surface of the device and the boundary surface of the support part. The lengthwise positioning is made possible by contact of the fiber end faces against the stop surface of a spacer. Such devices are useful for the manufacture of LWL components, particularly of LWL switches and plug connectors in telephone engineering.
Abstract: Described is an apparatus for releasably clamping a cable or line (6), comprising a housing (1), a clamping lever (3) which is mounted rotatably thereon (at 7) and two clamping surfaces (2, 8) of which the first is arranged on the housing (1) and the second is arranged on the clamping lever (3) and between which the cable or line (6) passes. The cable is also passed around at least one direction-changing means (8-10), the clamping lever (3) being designed for a lever ratio b/a such that at most the coefficient of friction .mu. is attained at the frictional location.
Abstract: A tool for use in welding a pipe to a fitting and wherein a gap is to be provided between the end of the pipe and an internal shoulder in the fitting. The tool has support arms provided with jaws that may be clamped onto the pipe and shims that may be manipulated to provide the gap. The tool has scribes for inscribing marks on the fitting and on the pipe to facilitate inspections following welding operations. The jaws are pivotal relative to the support arms to facilitate welding operations.
Abstract: A welding fixture mounts a self-clearing workpiece clamp having an arm that is pivotally mounted on the fixture and carries over-center toggle linkage for a clamp jaw. A trigger connected to the linkage is engaged by a moving welding head for releasing the clamp jaw, whereupon a spring swings the clamp arm clear of the welding head.
Abstract: A device (10) for centering and guiding strip material (12) into a punch press (16) which device (10) is adjustable to accept different widths of strip material (12) and which grasps the strip material (12) during the punching operation. The device (10) includes a pair of parallel guide members (24, 26) mounted to a pair of slide members (28, 30) which are coupled to move in opposite directions. The slide members (28, 30) are adjustable to vary the space between the guide members (24, 26) and are actuated by an actuating rod on the press (16) to close down the space between the guide members (24, 26) when the press (16) is down during the punching operation to grasp the strip material (12) between the guide members (24, 26).
Abstract: A jig for placement in a vise and receiving the beveled ends of a band saw blade preparatory to the joining of same as by silver soldering. The jig includes a shouldered upper edge which serves to align the blade end segments. A clamping member includes foot portions for blade segment engagement. The clamping member and jig main body define open areas for blade access and which prevent heat conduction from the blade. Springs urge the clamping member to a blade releasing, raised position. Clips on the main body retain the blade in place on a curved bottom wall of the main body to facilitate a filing operation removing excess solder from the blade joint.
