  • Patent number: 8997324
Abstract: A compact tube clamping device for inspecting an electric resistance welded tube quality. A lifting/lowering base including a tube support body is provided onto a fixed base. Clamp claws sandwich the tube support body. A claw drive body lifting/lowering independently of the lifting/lowering base is provided in the lifting/lowering base. Opposite side portions of the claw drive body are connected to opposite clamp claws by links to turn the opposite clamp claws in closing directions by lowering with respect to the lifting/lowering base. A first drive mechanism for the lifting/lowering base and a second drive body for lifting/lowering the claw drive body are provided to the fixed base. A lowering stroke of the claw drive body necessary for closing operations of the clamp claws is partially born by lifting of the lifting/lowering base in transferring the tube, thereby suppressing the lowering stroke of the claw drive body.

  • Publication number: 20140353897
Abstract: A jig for securing a thimble, includes a securing block, a pressing plate, a locking assembly. The securing block defines a step hole and a cutout. The pressing plate presses the thimble in the receiving slot. The pressing plate defines an avoiding hole. A pair of short sides and a pair of long sides bound the avoiding hole. The locking assembly includes a pole and an adjusting nut. The pole is inserted in the step hole and the avoiding hole. The adjusting nut includes a pair of long edges and a pair of short edges. The adjusting nut rotates on the pole to align the long edge with the short side to have the adjusting nut press the pressing plate, and rotate on the pole aligning the long edge to the long side locating the adjusting nut in the avoiding hole.

  • Patent number: 8601651
Abstract: In one exemplary embodiment, a low-profile clamping system generally includes first and second elongate supports engageable with an edge portion of a sheet material for supporting at least part of the sheet material against bending. A fastener can releasably couple the first and second elongate supports to the edge portion of the sheet material. The first and second elongate supports define a channel for receiving the edge portion of the sheet material into the channel when supporting the sheet material. In another exemplary embodiment, an apparatus for transporting a sheet material generally includes a frame, at least one wheel coupled to the frame for allowing rolling movement of the frame, and an adjustable vice coupled to the frame for securing a sheet material in the vice on the frame.

  • Patent number: 8459624
Abstract: The present invention provides clamp head comprising an arched body having upper and lower faces, a vertex and opposing unequal length arms. The body is further provided with a through aperture for a bolt or like threaded fastener which extends between the upper and lower faces in the region of the vertex. The aperture in the upper face is oval and tapers outwardly through the body in the direction of the lower face. The arms comprise a reaction arm having at its distal end a reaction face and a clamping arm having at its distal end a clamping face, the reaction and clamping faces being provided with respective formations. The formations of the reaction arm extend in a direction which is substantially transverse to the direction of the formations of the clamping arm.

  • Patent number: 8322698
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for reducing vibrations of a machine element (9) and/or a workpiece (5) in a machine tool, a production machine and/or in a machine which is embodied as a robot. A clamping force (F), which is used to lock the workpiece (5) and which makes the workpiece holder (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 11a, 11b) act upon the workpiece (5), is modified when vibrations occur. The invention also relates to a corresponding machine. Due to said invention, vibrations of a machine element (9) and/or a workpiece (5), which occur during a machining process, are reduced.

  • Patent number: 6524174
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a semiconductor device includes a rotatable spindle, a head detachably connected to the spindle, and a clamp for clamping outer circumferential surfaces of the spindle and the head to one another so that the head may be driven by the spindle. The clamp has an annular clamping frame sized to encircle the outer circumferential surfaces of the spindle and the head, a projection disposed on one end of the clamping frame, a lever pivotally connected to the other end of the clamping frame, and a fastener pivotally connected to the lever and configured to hook over the projection. Once the fastener is hooked over the projection, the lever is pivoted to force the ends of the annular clamping frame together and thereby produce a clamping force that secures the spindle and head to one another. The clamp can be manipulated easily and with a simple motion to clamp the head to the spindle. Also, the parts of the clamp generate little mechanical friction.

  • Patent number: 4432538
Abstract: A machine tool clamp includes an elongated clamping member with its mid-section anchored at an adjustably spaced distance above a base plate. The front end of the clamping member is adapted to clamp a work piece to a machine tool work platform. The rear end or heel of the clamping member bears pivotally on the base plate in such a manner that the adjustable anchor of the mid-section is a movable fulcrum. A height adjustable mechanism with a large mechanical advantage is positioned in the heel of the clamping member to lever the clamping member about the adjustable fulcrum to clamp the front end on a work piece. The height adjustable mechanism can be a screw, eccentric cammed lever, hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder, or other suitable mechanism.
