Abstract: Present invention disclosed and claimed a magnetic clamping tool where a clamping arm with a clamping finger serves to clamp on a working object in normal, sideways, or even up-side-down orientations, where the movements of the clamping finger is controlled by a first wing screw and the movement of the clamping arm is controlled by a third wing screw. The clamping arm is releasably attached to a bracket which is further releasably attached to a V-pad by a locking nut. An anti-tipping screw provides a counter-balancing force to the biasing force of a helical spring on the bracket, and is most useful when the longitudinal direction of the bracket is at a 90-degree angle with the longitudinal direction of the clamping arm.

The base includes a plurality of attachment points of which various implements such as clamps, brackets and other accesories are removably mountable such that they are secured to the workbench without requiring attachment to the work top, thereby enabling the work top to remain unmarred, imperforate and in good working condition. The plurality of attachment points allow the implements to be mounted to the base in various positions as desired.

  • Patent number: 5037074
Abstract: A work-holding fixture for clamping a workpiece in position on a work-holding table has a guide shoe (1) and an associated clamping dog (2) which is designed as rocking lever (21) and has extensions (24) which are arranged in the center area and are supported on the guide shoe. A clamping screw (36) is provided at the free end of the clamping dog (2). The recesses (8, 9) are provided in such a way as to be continuous over the length of the guide shoe (1) and are integral parts of a T-slot-shaped cross-sectional configuration of the guide shoe (1). The clamping dog (2) has a curved form in which the free ends of the gripping leg (22) and of the clamping leg (23) are arranged higher than the extensions (24). The extensions have a roughly elliptical cross-section with an orientation of the large axis roughly in the longitudinal direction of the clamping dog (2). The clamping dog has a return spring (30) acting against the clamping direction.

  • Patent number: 4993255
Abstract: A bending-press tool can be fixed instantaneously on its tool-holder by means of a device which permits positioning and extraction of the tool on the front side of the machine without any need to displace adjacent tools. The device comprises a clamping member pivotally mounted on a longitudinal shaft and having a shouldered portion, the heel of the tool which has a suitable shape being intended to engage on the shouldered portion. After engagement, the tool is thrust from its position of equilibrium towards the rear, causes rotational displacement of the clamping member and of a locking cam which has the effect of applying the clamping member on the tool in the work position. In order to unclamp the tool, it is only necessary to withdraw the cam. The tool then remains engaged and can be extracted by pivotal displacement in the forward direction.

  • Patent number: 4981289
Abstract: The clamp for a milling machine or the like comprises a substantially semi-cylindrical body having inner and outer surfaces with the same center in cross-section. The body has two circumferential ends terminating in two lips. It also has a circumferential slot extending a substantial distance circumferentially from a center of the body toward one lip. A washer has an inner surface matching in contour the outer cylindrical surface in the vicinity of the slot. In use the one lip is placed on the bed of the machine. The other lip is applied over the workpiece. A bolt is then passed from under the bed through the slot and washer, and fastened with a nut to clamp the body against the workpiece and the bed of the machine. Then, if properly placed, the milling tool may operate upon the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4826146
Abstract: A hydraulic clamp for dies of injection molding machines, workpieces of machine tools such as press machines and the like.In the front part of its housing a clamp arm is installed to be longitudinally movable and vertically pivotable and a hydraulic cylinder in the rear part thereof, and there is formed in at least either of a piston rod and the clamp arm a longitudinally extending hole for accommodating a clamp arm pushing spring. An engaging means is provided for engaging the clamp arm with the piston rod at substantially same level with the clamp arm pushing spring. When the hydraulic cylinder is driven to extend, first the clamp arm is pushed forward by the clamp arm pushing spring and, when it is extended, a projected end portion of the clamp arm is pivoted down by the force-magnifying effect of a driving wedge interlockingly connected with the piston rod.

  • Patent number: 4750245
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting gemstones in prong type settings by cutting a seat in the form of an inset edge in the ends of the prongs and swaging the remaining prong material over a stone girdle, comprising a vertical support frame holding a tool driver such as a rotating chuck assembly slidably mounted thereon for sliding between first and second predetermined limits of travel. A rotary cutting tool is coupled to the tool driver for being rotated and removing predetermined portions of the prong ends. A cylindrical mandrel or vise clamp holder is mounted on a work platform attached to the frame and positions the setting under the cutting tool. The setting is held in a fixed vertical but self adjusting lateral or horizontal position which provides automatic centering of the mounting operation. A reciprocating element moves the tool driver up or down on the vertical frame with a stop being employed to control spacing between the cutting tool and the setting.

  • Patent number: 4721293
Abstract: A self-locking, fluid-operated, tool clamping device is disclosed. The device provides a double-acting piston formed with a camming surface intermediate its ends. The camming surface is formed with a locking angle with respect to the axis of the piston. A cylindrical clamping pin is guided within the device for movement in a direction perpendicular to the camming surface and is provided with an end surface perpendicular to such direction of movement which engages the camming surface. An output lever pivotably mounted on the device engages the clamping pin at one end and is operable to engage tooling at its other end to clamp the tooling in position. The clamping pin is cylindrical and is free to rotate about its axis so as to reduce localized wear when the device is repeatedly cycled. A spring operably positioned between the lever and the body of the device resiliently biases the lever and the clamping pin toward the release position.

  • Patent number: 4718651
Abstract: A jaw is secured to a stem member having a T-shaped slot through which a pair of spaced pins pass. When the jaw and member are displaced from a clamp position to a neutral position, one of the pins is aligned with the T portion of the slot and the other pin is seated at one end of the main slot. The member tilts automatically to a retracted state in response to a spring force in a given direction. When the member is rotated from the retracted state to the neutral position the same spring force slides the jaw into the clamp position. A resilient projection on the stem member automatically engages a workpiece when the member reaches the neutral position to locate the workpiece prior to clamping.
