  • Patent number: 11198582
Abstract: A hold down finger for a finisher process tray contacts the top sheet of paper on a paper tray to prevent subsequently printed pages from disturbing pages disposed on the paper tray. The hold down finger includes gears that move a portion of the hold down finger that contacts the top sheet of paper from a retracted position to a forward hold down position along a substantially elliptical path. After each sheet is printed and placed on top of other pages in the paper tray, the paper tray lowers and the hold down finger continues along the substantially elliptical path back to the retracted position. A rack gear associated with the paper tray engages a cylindrical gear of the hold down finger to return the hold down finger to the retracted position if the paper tray is forced upwards while the hold down finger is in the forward position.

Abstract: A carrying apparatus carries a battery electrode member (an electrode material film web or an electrode film). The carrying apparatus includes a carrier for holding while curving, and then carrying the electrode member. The carrier is configured to hold the electrode member at a position that doesn't cause a contact with components for another process at a downstream along a carrying direction. Since the electrode member is curved, its stiffness along the carrying direction is strengthened and thereby sagging down is prevented. In addition, the holding position by the carrier is the position that doesn't cause a contact with components for another process at a downstream along a carrying direction. Therefore, according to the carrying apparatus, it is possible to carry the electrode member (an end of an electrode material web or an electrode) to a target position reliably.

  • Patent number: 7147220
Abstract: A banknote moving system including a banknote storing unit that can be removably positioned within a banknote receiving unit. The banknote storing unit has a storing section and receives a banknote from the banknote receiving unit. The mover unit can move between a standby position and a moved position to move the received banknote into the storing section of the storing unit. The mover driving unit operates the mover unit in a reciprocating manner between the standby position and the moved position. The rotating driving unit selectively operates the mover driving unit by applying a rotating force in either a clockwise or a counter clockwise direction. The standby position detecting unit produces a standby condition signal when the mover is in a standby condition, and the moved position detecting unit produces a moved position condition signal when the mover unit is in a moved position condition.

  • Patent number: 6698751
Abstract: A note stacker for a currency validator includes a stationary punch and movable rails having slots therein adapted for receiving the currency tendered thereto. The stationary punch comprises a top plate surface of the housing maintaining drive motors and gears of the stacker itself. The top plate is curved to accommodate the natural deflection of the bill as it is being stacked, and is provided with a durable frictional material along lateral edges thereof to prevent the bill from sliding or otherwise moving upon the surface of the curved plate. A leading edge of the curved plate is provided with serrations or teeth which, in conjunction with a shutter fixed to the movable rails, serves to defeat strings or other retrieval elements.

  • Patent number: 6659452
Abstract: An automatic bill storage device for storing bills of different widths or sizes, includes a bill loading device for receiving a bill and positioning it at an initial storage position. A bill contact device can then engage the bill at the initial storage position and translate the bill to other side of a restraining device to a storage location that is biased by a movable plate. A contact member can contact an intermediate portion of the bill and translate the bill by a moving contact that extends from the intermediate portion of the bill towards one end of the bill as the bill is moved towards the storage location. This looping movement of contact can accommodate bills of different width in a compact configuration and can permit an initial bending of the bills from the initial storage position to aligning the bills so that they are straightened so that they can be stored in a stacked array in an efficient and compact manner.

Each of the link mechanisms includes a pair of link members pivotally connected with each other in an intersecting fashion, and at least one of the link members is coupled at one end to the pressing plate for sliding movement therealong. The link mechanisms are interconnected at a predetermined position via a connecting member, and an actuator is operatively connected to the connecting member. The actuator is linearly displaced by a drive unit. The link mechanisms are caused to extend and contract, together as an integral unit, via the connecting member in response to linear reciprocating movement of the actuator.
