Fall Apart Targets Patents (Class 273/127A)
  • Patent number: 6155565
Abstract: A pinball machine has been designed with several novel mechanical and electrical features such that it is easily retrofittable or convertible between a first pinball game and a second pinball game. The pinball machine includes a cabinet, a playfield, a panel, an electronics system, and a video display. The playfield is mounted in the cabinet with the panel mounted to the cabinet and overlaying at least a portion of the playfield. The video display is mounted generally above the cabinet and is disposed to project video images onto the panel for viewing by the player. The electronics system includes a control unit and a plurality of input/output elements which are mounted to the playfield. The control unit, which includes a controller and memory for storing game instructions and video images, is coupled to the plurality of input/output elements. The controller executes the game instructions to cause the video images to be displayed upon the video display.

  • Patent number: 5509650
Abstract: An apparatus and method for improving the scoring skills of a player practicing a sport, such as hockey, ringette, broomball, soccer and lacrosse, involving propelling a playing piece into a goal tended by a goalkeeper is disclosed. A target support is sized to approximate the goal and at least two targets positioned thereon are representative of areas which are typically unprotected by a goalkeeper in a common goal guarding position. A sensor detects a player in a predetermined area proximate the target support and generates a signal to a processor which executes a program to indicate at least one of the targets as a current target for which the player should aim. The current target indicator is activated for a predetermined period of time, for example dependent on the skill of the player, or until the playing piece successfully strikes the current target. The processor preferably accumulates statistics useful in gaging the skill progression of the practicing player.

  • Patent number: 5234216
Abstract: A toy vehicle crash simulating playset includes a crash simulator having a support base to which a pair of toy vehicles are pivotally secured in a spaced apart arrangement. Each toy vehicle is pivotally secured at the outer portion thereof and a spring mechanism urges the toy vehicles toward pivotal motion away from the base. A releasable latch mechanism is operative upon each toy vehicle which releases upon impact permitting abrupt high energy pivotal motion thereof. A third toy vehicle is receivable between the two spring-loaded toy vehicles and interacts therewith when impacted to also cause the release of the latching mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 5222737
Abstract: A sloping table sliding puck game and method for playing the same. A table having a substantially frictionless is elevated at an angle. A rebounding device is placed at one end of the table. A game player at the other end of the table projects a puck along the top surface of the table toward targets adjacent the rebounding device with a hand paddle. The table is sloped to force the puck to return to the game player. Optical sensors detect when the puck passes over the targets. A chute is located behind the rebounding device. When the game is over the rebounding device drops permitting the puck to enter the chute. The chute is constructed to return the puck to the player at the other end of the table from the rebounding device before the start of the next game.

  • Patent number: 4453713
Abstract: A game apparatus for playing a lawn game of entertainment comprises a plurality of generally upright targets, a plurality of balls, and a plurality of mallets for striking the balls. In addition, a plurality of boundary stakes are used to establish the boundaries of play on a playing surface. Each target has a base and an elongated upright, with the base being positioned on the playing surface or lawn and the upright formed to be retained slidably in a generally vertical position on an upwardly extending portion of the base. Preferably, each player of the game has three balls and a mallet, which is used for striking the balls to selectively advance each ball across the playing surface and into contact with selected uprights. Each upright is retained slidably on its base to normally be maintained against tipping, but when a ball contacts the upright with sufficient force, the upright tips and slides off of the base onto the playing surface.

  • Patent number: 4248428
Abstract: The invention comprises a game apparatus for two or more players comprising a first and a second home plate spaced from one another for a first and a second player. Each of the first and second home plates has plural supports positioned therein for removably supporting a cross bar. Each of the first and second players is provided with a bat to guard the cross bar of the respective home plate. The first player pitches a rolling ball to the second player, whereat the second player attempts to hit the ball and prevent the ball from displacing the cross bar from the plural supports.

  • Patent number: 4212460
Abstract: A hollow body is provided having two complementary parts releasably joined about interfitting rim portions. When the parts are joined, the hollow body may be compressed to partially deform a portion of the rim structure into an opening thereby allowing the filling of water into the body interior. After deformation the parts resume their original shape. An effective hermetic seal to retain the water within the interior is formed by squeezing the body and purging air through vents in the rim portions. The water-filled body may then be thrown against a stationary object whereby the force of impact will release the seal and allow the water to become suddenly released causing a splashing action. The complementary hollow parts may be subsequently rejoined and refilled with water to repeat the throwing and splashing action.

  • Patent number: 4129301
Abstract: A golf putting training device includes a pair of inverted, generally U-shaped end members which are disposed in parallel spaced apart relationship and supported on a putting surface. A rod-like member extends from a lower edge portion of each of the end members to the distal end member where it is supported in selective dislodgement fashion by a detent recess. The end members also include a detent recess in the upper extent of their inverted U-configuration to receive another rod-like member, also for selective dislodgement. A golf ball is placed on the putting surface within the confines of the rod-like members, and the head of a putter is also placed within the confines to putt the ball through one of the inverted U-end members. A putting stroke which includes undesirable arc or side motion will cause the rod members to dislodge.
