Patent number: 6007429Abstract: There is disclosed an electronic game apparatus comprising a plurality of player positions wherein each contestant is assigned a given player position, each position, each position having an equal number of target areas on a display by which each of the contestants proceeds from a first target area to a last target area, wherein the first contestant who activates all of the target areas in the shortest time interval wins, each target area having a light sensitive portion and a visual display portion, the light sensitive portion responsive to a user-controlled light emitting means for aiming and firing a light beam at the light sensitive portion to activate the target area, wherein the visual display portion is activated in response thereto to produce an illuminated pattern indicative of target activation.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1997Date of Patent: December 28, 1999Inventor: Michael E. Lubniewski

Patent number: 5104129Abstract: An arrangement for a game playing device comprising a game playing apparatus which controls a prize delivering machinery (10), a feeding device (7) for a token (8) for starting the game playing apparatus against a payment, and a tuner (11) controlling the prize delivering machinery. The tuner improves the odds and the chances of winning a prize from a normal state in response to the operation of the game playing apparatus. In order that the tuner could be restored to the normal state by the player, the game playing device comprises a stop switch (13) which influences the feeding device for starting the game playing apparatus without payment and which is arranged to control the tuner in such a manner that the tuner is restored to the normal state when the operation of the game playing device does not affect the tuner or the prize delivering machinery, so that the player does not win a prize.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 1990Date of Patent: April 14, 1992Assignee: Raha-AutomaattiyhdistysInventors: Olli Hamalainen, Kauko Piri

Patent number: 4487414Abstract: A slot machine or coin operated prize dispensing apparatus comprising a vertical gambling panel which forms a plane of movement for coins or similar flat, rolling tokens and which is provided with a plurality of prize sensors located in the plane of movement, a projector adjacent the plane of movement, a stake inserting slot, and a pay-out mechanism. A closed circulating path for projected coins is formed in the plane of movement of the gambling panel and passes adjacent the projector. The stake inserting slot is connected past the gambling panel to the pay-out panel by means of a separate circulating path for stake coins. Thus, the projected coins are independent of the number, value and combination of the stake coins so that the game can be priced and the prize relation changed without touching the projected coins.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1983Date of Patent: December 11, 1984Assignee: Raha-AutomaattiyhdistysInventors: Martti K/a/ rkk/a/ inen, Lauri Martti

Patent number: 4380339Abstract: A game device comprises an elongated trunk element, a plurality of elongated limb elements, a trunk member defining an elongated trunk cavity for axially positioning the elongated trunk elements therein, and including a plurality of limb members each defining a limb cavity for axially positioning at least one of said limb elements therein; hinges connecting the limb elements to the trunk element, a platform transversely mounted to the trunk element for supporting weighted objects thereon and spring for biasing the trunk element in an upward direction so that the trunk element will be yieldably and incrementally depressed in the trunk cavity in response to successive weighted objects being placed upon the platform member.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1981Date of Patent: April 19, 1983Inventor: Andrew Jones, Jr.

Patent number: 4296929Abstract: A target shooting apparatus including an operator controlled simulated gun which projects a light beam of short duration toward a target each time the trigger is actuated. The simulated gun must be cocked between each "shot" which also resets a recoiling mechanism to give a true to life operational effect to the gun. The target includes a frame fronted by a simulated fence on top of which a plurality of objects, such as bottles, tin cans, and the like may be placed. A target impeller is provided on the frame in proximity to each of the objects so that, when actuated, the impeller will cause physical movement of the associated target knocking it off of the frame. The target impellers are actuated by a control mechanism, as a photo transistor therein senses the proper alignment of the light beam from the gun through one of a plurality of apertures located on the frame below each of the objects.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1976Date of Patent: October 27, 1981Assignee: Marvin Glass & AssociatesInventors: Burton C. Meyer, Gunars Licitis, Derek A. Brand
-
Patent number: 4272082Abstract: An amusement device wherein coins may be controllably deposited upon a surface having a multiplicity of surface interruption means thereon. A vertical dam synchronously translates over at least a portion of said surface and pushes said deposited coins against an accumulated random pattern of like coins, thereby causing some of said accumulated coins to fall over an edge into collecting and counting means.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1979Date of Patent: June 9, 1981Inventor: Stephen P. Shoemaker, Jr.

Patent number: 4212412Abstract: A game employing a gun capable of emitting a light beam can be played using a target apparatus which ejects objects each time this apparatus is approximately actuated by a light beam. The target apparatus includes a turntable which is capable of being rotated by a motor. The turntable includes a plurality of holders, each of which is adapted to hold an object to be ejected from the apparatus. An ejection lever is mounted on the base of the apparatus so as to be capable of ejecting an object from a holder positioned directly above it. After such an object is ejected the motor rotates the turntable. Structures are provided for returning the ejection lever to a position in which it can eject an object from an adjacent holder and for indexing the turntable so that an adjacent holder is above the lever as a result of such rotation of the turntable. A circuit including a photocell is provided on the apparatus for operation of the ejection lever so as to eject an object from a holder positioned above this lever.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1978Date of Patent: July 15, 1980Assignee: Tomy Kogyo Co., Inc.Inventor: Masaki Ikeda

Patent number: 4186926Abstract: An amusement device for use by opposing players includes an upstanding enclosure having spaced apart transparent side walls permitting the interior to be viewed by players on opposite sides. The enclosure includes a bottom wall with a pair of spaced apart parallel openings and a plurality of projectiles, such as table tennis balls, are contained within the enclosure and are adapted to be fired upwardly from the bottom wall. Each player is provided with a movable firing unit or "cannon" which he positions beneath the opening in the bottom wall on his side and the firing unit is then manually operated to propel or fire a selected ball upwardly towards a target. Each player is provided with a target device having an open upper end for receiving the balls and holding a selected number of balls in a vertical stack.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 1977Date of Patent: February 5, 1980Assignee: Marvin Glass & AssociatesInventors: Ralph J. Kulesza, Jeffrey D. Breslow
