Passage Through Axial Facing Surface Patents (Class 277/515)
  • Patent number: 10753475
Abstract: A sealing ring of a translationally adjustable component may include a ring body including at least one sealing lip, and a fibre-reinforced reinforcement ring configured to stiffen the ring body in a radial direction and limit a deformation of the at least one sealing lip in the radial direction. The reinforcement ring may be one of i) coupled to the at least one sealing lip, and ii) embedded into the ring body. The reinforcement ring may include laminated carbon fibres and have a modulus of elasticity E2. The ring body may be composed of a plastic having a modulus of elasticity E1. The sealing ring may also have a ratio of the modulus of elasticity E2 to the modulus of elasticity E1 (E2/E1) that is approximately 150 to 300.

  • Patent number: 8424661
Abstract: A power transmitting apparatus can comprise a plurality of gear stage clutches arranged on the way of a power transmitting path between an engine and the wheels. Each of the gear stage clutches include alternately arranged driving clutch discs and driven clutch discs, hydraulic pistons actuated by hydraulic oil to selectively engage or disengage the driving clutch discs and driven clutch discs, hydraulic chambers for actuating the hydraulic pistons, and supplying ports communicating with oil passages formed within the input shaft and opening on the side surface of the input shaft for supplying the hydraulic chambers with hydraulic oil from the oil passages to actuate the hydraulic pistons. A plurality of the supplying ports can be formed on a same plane of a radial cross-section of the input shaft.

  • Publication number: 20130087975
Abstract: A sealing device for sealing a slide plate in a polymer filtration apparatus where the slide plate is translatable across an extrusion bore extending through a housing of the polymer filtration apparatus. A spring device can be positioned around the outer periphery surfaces of the seal for axially biasing the sealing surface of the seal against the slide plate with a preload bias. Increasing pressure of polymer in the extrusion bore can enter a region in the seal cavity upstream of the thrust surface of the seal and can provide polymer pressure in the axial direction for exerting axial force against the thrust surface of the seal for causing the sealing surface to be further biased against the slide plate.

  • Patent number: 8366114
Abstract: A system for cooling packing material utilized for sealing a shaft moving therethrough is described. The packing material held in place by at least one packing cup, wherein a coolant is directed axially through a significant volume of each packing cup close to the packing material. The present system finds use for compressors and pumps where pressure requirements of the fluids acted upon demand the use of packing materials in close contact with the moving shafts.

  • Patent number: 5908044
Abstract: An apparatus for injecting sealant into the packing chamber of a valve requiring no venting of pressure within the valve. The apparatus which includes an interior valve is attached to the valve body by drilling and tapping a connection or by friction welding. A high pressure packing gland is attached to the apparatus and a drill bit is passed through the combination to complete an opening into the packing chamber. The drill bit is withdrawn past the interior valve, which is closed and then out of the combination. The packing gland is removed and a sealant injection device attached. The interior valve is opened and sealant injected into the packing chamber. The valve is closed, a completion plug installed into the end of the fitting, and a completion cap with a sealing ring is installed over the entire valve and fitting, thereby forming multiple redundant seals.
