A seal runner is configured to rotate relative to the seal ring. The seal runner has a runner surface facing the radially inward facing sealing surface. A plurality of grooves are spaced circumferentially along the runner surface. The plurality of grooves have a length in an axial direction that is at least 50% of an axial length of the runner surface.

Abstract: A sealing unit for a stem of a mono-tube shock absorber includes a first seal having a sealing ring providing an annular sealing lip that projects in a radially and axially inner direction to slidingly cooperate with the stem and ensure a sealing action with respect to pressurized working fluid inside the mono-tube shock absorber; a second seal with a sealing ring having an annular sealing lip, which projects protruding in a radially and axially external direction to slidingly cooperate, with the stem and ensure a sealing action with respect to the outside of the mono-tube shock absorber; a reinforcing ring snapped into an annular seat of the sealing ring. The reinforcing ring is arranged axially locked between the lip and a bottom wall of the second sealing lip; the first and second seals are two physically distinct and separate elements assembled separately inside a body of the shock absorber.

The control slide is biased in a displacement increasing direction. The control slide has one or more seals defining a control chamber with housing. The one or more seals includes a seal assembly received in a recess on a control slide outer surface. The seal assembly has a base element in the recess and a bearing element pivotally attached to the base element and bearing against an inner surface of the housing for sealing. The pivotal attachment includes male and female pivotal connectors coupled together.

Abstract: A sealing arrangement in a gas turbine engine to seal a gap between first and second turbine components is provided. The sealing arrangement includes a first arcuate feather seal connected to an anchoring assembly of the sealing arrangement affixed to the first turbine component. A second arcuate feather seal is affixed to the second turbine component. The first arcuate feather seal and the second arcuate feather seal are responsive to a pressure differential that develops across the gap to form a pressure-loaded sealing joint between respective sealing surfaces of the first arcuate feather seal and the second arcuate feather seal. The sealing arrangement provides substantial design flexibility since it can reliably provide appropriate sealing functionality while enabling multiple degrees of freedom, such as to accommodate radial and/or axial displacements that can develop between the first turbine component and the second turbine component.

The sealing device further includes a non-contact type labyrinth seal having a predetermined axial length arranged between the outer peripheral tube portion in the lip seal member and the outer peripheral side tubular portion in the seal flange member. The sealing device can improve sealing performance, particularly muddy water sealing performance, while fulfilling the need for low torque.

Accordingly, it is possible to prevent damage due to interference in operation and maintenance is easy. Further, since it is integrated, including a controller, when the actuator according to the present invention is used, connecting with other parts is easy and interference can be reduced. Therefore, it is easy to design and manufacture a resultant product.

Each isolation member is disposed adjacent at least one contact arm. Each isolation member is coupled to, and in electrical communication with the adjacent contact arm. The shunts are coupled to, and in electrical communication with, the isolation members. In this configuration, no shunt operatively engages a contact arm.

The coating composition comprises (A) a high energy beam-curable resin, (B) silicone elastomer fine particles, and (C) a gum-like polysiloxane. The coating composition is capable of forming a lubrication film that suppresses the occurrence of stick-slip phenomenon, has good feel, adheres to a substrate, and has excellent followability (i.e. ability to follow the elastic transformation) to conform to deformation of the substrate.

The installation tool includes a body having a channel that extends across a bottom surface of the body that is adapted to receive a guide rail. The channel is defined by an upper surface with a lead-in angled projection and sides defined by two L-shaped guide portions that extend from the upper surface and that face each other. Two undercut areas of the channel are located between the L-shaped guide portions and the upper surface of the channel. Retention tabs of the installation tool can attach to the carriage of the linear guide rail assembly. The lead-in angled projection provides a downward force on the cover strip as the carriage travels along the guide rail to press the cover strip into a flattened state within a slot of the guide rail.

An augmented cooling system according to the present disclosure includes transporting a cooling fluid through one wall of a cooling pathway formed between two opposing spaced apart walls of the dual walled component. The cooling fluid can be deflected away from one wall of the cooling pathway with a first trip strip as the cooling fluid traverses along the cooling pathway. The cooling fluid can be deflected away from the opposing wall of the cooling pathway with a second trip strip as the cooling fluid continues traversing along the cooling pathway. The cooling fluid can then be discharged from the cooling pathway through the opposing wall of the dual walled component.

A process for the manufacture of such a segment is also described.

Abstract: A molded piece 25 of abradable material for use in the manufacture of a segment of an abradable ring seal for a turbomachine includes a mixture of epoxy resin and crosslinking agent. The piece 25 has a curved shape and dimensions adapted to correspond to a receiver provided for that purpose in the inner surface of a casing of a fan of a turbomachine. A process for the manufacture of such a piece is also described.

Contact between the displacing surfaces during parallel movement of the first planar surface relative to the second planar surface may create a separation between the planar surfaces greater than the compressible seal height. Positioning of the displacing surfaces past each other during parallel movement of the first planar surface relative to the second planar surface may initiate the compression of the compressible seal between the planar surfaces.

Abstract: A rotating heat regenerator is used to recover heat from the syngas at it exits the reactor vessel of a waste or biomass gasifier. In some embodiments, three or more streams are passed through the heat exchanger. One stream is the dirty syngas, which heats the rotating material. A second stream is a cold stream that is heated as it passes through the material. A third stream is a cleaning stream, which serves to remove particulates that are collected on the rotating material as the dirty syngas passes through it. This apparatus can also be used as an auto-heat exchanger, or it can exchange heat between separate flows in the gasifier process. The apparatus can also be used to reduce the heating requirement for the thermal residence chamber (TRC) used downstream from the gasification system.

Abstract: A sealing system is provided for a moved metal strip, which includes an elongated inflatable flexible body, a holder, into which the inflatable body is embedded, and an elongated body made of Teflon.
