The first spindle can be unlocked from the second spindle by sliding the locking ring away from the indentation position against the biasing force of the biasing mechanism and towards the second spindle. Such action moves the locking element to disengage from the indentation.

Entrainment faces (2), open towards a free end of the clamping shank (1) are located upstream of these stop faces in the direction of the cutting area of the tool bits. The radial dimension (r) of the essentially radially extending entrainment faces (2) is greater than their axial dimension (a). In cooperation with an appropriately designed tool bit receptacle, the entrainment faces (2) can carry such a large share of the torque, that the stop faces are effectively relieved or unloaded.

    Abstract: A hand held nibbling machine has a manipulatable housing with a drive head in which there is a downwardly opening passage. A tool assembly has an upper portion extending into the passage of the drive head, a lower portion for supporting a die, and a neck portion therebetween providing a throat portion between the upper and lower portions and into which a workpiece may extend. The upper portion of the tool assembly is releasably engaged in the passage of the drive head by interengaging surfaces about a portion of the outer surface of the upper portion of the tool assembly and about a portion of the wall of the drive head defining the passage, and these surfaces are disengageable by rotation of the tool assembly within the passage to move the interengaging surfaces out of alignment. A releasable fastener in the drive head is engageable with the upper portion of the tool assembly to secure the tool assembly in a rotated position in which the surfaces are interengaged.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a drill bit which firstly comprises two locking grooves (1,1') diametrically opposed with respect to each other, and secondly, also diametrically opposed, with respect to each other, a first driving groove (3) and a second driving groove (4) associated with a locking groove (2) by being superimposed thereon. The driving groove (4) is advantageously angularly offset with respect to the associated locking groove (2) so as to have, in the drill bit driving zone, the lateral faces of the two associated grooves almost merged. This permits an extension of the friction zone so as to increase the wear resistance thereof, while the opposite lateral faces or edges of the superimposed grooves defines projecting locking surfaces (7) insuring proper locking of the drill bit.

    Abstract: The drill chuck has an adapter shaft which is held in the drill chuck nonrotatably with axial motion play and formed for receipt in a tool holder of a hammer drill machine. The hammer action of the adapter shaft is transmittable to the end of a drill held between centrally adjustable clamp jaws through an axial passage. A stop piece is carried in the drill chuck which is movable above the drill chuck axially into a position clamped and locked against the tool holder of the hammer drill machine. Hence axial motion play of the adapter shaft is prevented in both the drill chuck and also in the tool holder and the former is for all intents and purposes rigidly attached with the latter.

In the region of the chuck member into which the anvil is located, there is a radially extending passageway through the chuck member extending between the central bore and a guide channel. A retaining member is radially displaceable through the passageway and has a dimension so that it can project outwardly or inwardly from the passageway. When the remaining member extends radially inwardly from the passageway, it can seat within an annular groove in the anvil and hold the anvil in a position so that it does not transmit percussive force.
