Patent number: 10065301Abstract: A protection assembly for a work implement includes an outer shield member and an inner shield member. The outer shield member is spaced from a housing of the work implement in a longitudinal direction and defines a channel. The channel extends to an exterior of the protection assembly. The inner shield member defines an opening and is slideably disposed in the channel. The inner shield member is free to slide in a transverse direction that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Movement of the inner shield member in the longitudinal direction is restricted by the housing of the work implement and the outer shield member. Movement of the inner shield member in the transverse direction is restricted by a work tool that is locked within and projects out of the housing and through the opening in the inner shield.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2015Date of Patent: September 4, 2018Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Rakesh Jagdale, Vaino Esko Juvonen

Patent number: 7819203Abstract: An impact force is transmitted to a tip end tool due to the changes of the air pressure within an air chamber generated by the reciprocal operation of the piston within a striker. The attachment portion of a tip end tool holding member for holding the tip end tool to a cylinder casing is sandwiched between buffers disposed in the two directions of the axial direction of the tool thereby to elastically support the tip end tool holding member to be movable in the two directions of the axial direction of the tool.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2005Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Assignee: Hitachi Koki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shinichiro Sato, Tsukasa Suzuura, Takahiro Hirai

Publication number: 20090261536Abstract: A quick-connect adapter, configured to receive an end of a medical tool, is disclosed and can include a base. A support sleeve can extend from the base having an internal cavity with a first portion defined by a first internal circumferential surface parallel to a major axis of the quick-connect adapter and a second portion defined by a second internal circumferential surface non-parallel to the major axis and generally adjacent to the first portion. A medical tool engagement sleeve can be slidingly disposed within the support sleeve and have a receiving channel and an opening through the engagement sleeve into the receiving channel. The quick-connect adapter can be movable between an engaged configuration, in which the lateral opening is substantially aligned with the second portion of the support sleeve, and an unlocked configuration, in which the lateral opening is substantially aligned with the first portion of the support sleeve.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2008Publication date: October 22, 2009Applicant: WARSAW ORTHOPEDIC, INC.Inventors: Jeff Beale, James Cline, Harold Taylor

Patent number: 6810974Abstract: A retainer device (10) is provided for retaining a drill bit (12) within a percussive drill assembly casing (2). The retainer device (10) includes a generally annular body (16) having a central axis and an inner circumferential shoulder portion (18) disposable within the casing (2) such that the body axis (17) is substantially collinear with a casing axis (2a). The shoulder (17) is deflectable between a first position (P1), where the shoulder (18) is contactable with the bit head (14) to retain the bit (12) within the retainer body (16), and a second position (P2). The second position (P2) is spaced radially outwardly from the first position such that the bit head (14) is displaceable through the body (16) in a direction along the casing axis (2a). Also, the retainer device (10) includes a spacer (24) that locates the retainer body (16) at a desired axial position within the casing (2) and a centralizer (26) that centers the body (16) about the casing axis (2a).Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2003Date of Patent: November 2, 2004Assignee: Atlas Copco ABInventors: Leland H. Patent number: 6202760Abstract: An improved structure of multi-functional hand tool, wherein, a pushing axle rod is screw connected with a chuck, a pushing axle rod is screw connected with a driving rod; bearings are slipped over a positioning sleeve, then the positioning sleeve, the pushing axle rod and the chuck are together placed in a pipe body with the bearings. The positioning sleeve can be rotated in the bearings. A front cover is locked in the front end of the pipe body; the chuck is extended out of the front cover. The pushing member is screwed in the pipe body to render a hole on a rear enlarged threaded portion of the pushing member to be exactly located at a position limiting slot of the pipe body. The external sleeve then is slipped over the pipe body, and an inner screw hole of the external sleeve is aligned with the position limiting slot of the pipe body. Then the positioning screw rod is screwed in the inner screw hole to extend through the position limiting slot and the hole of the pushing member.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2000Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Inventor: Wu-Chang Lin
