Patent number: 11110843Abstract: A drop-deck trailer for hauling heavy loads (e.g., jumbo glass panes) positioned on each side of the drop-deck and which minimizes trailer twisting/leaning is provided. The drop deck includes a plurality of transversely-mounted A-frames that are coupled through an anti-torsion structure (ATS) to each other and to at least two trailer main beams at an elevated front deck and at a rear portion of the drop-deck for transferring the load from each side of the trailer and into the at least two main beams. The ATS includes tie bars for connecting the tops of the A-frames together, a front support for connecting the forward-most A-frame to the main beams and an end support for connecting the rear-most A-frame to the main beams. The ATS minimizes twisting/leaning of the trailer without adding any significant weight to the trailer itself. This permits the transport of increased payload on the trailer, including a continuous tarp for covering the payload during transport.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2020Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Inventor: Miles A. Patent number: 5316338Abstract: Transport arrangements for cutting heads or the like have previously been configured as independent one or two-axle trailers upon which the implement could be deposited. The disadvantage is that thereby a self-supporting construction is required which entails high costs. In another known embodiment a two wheel trailer is attached to both the front and the rear end of the implement, which is costly and increases the length of the complete rig. The transport arrangement proposed consists of a draft tongue and a trailer, where the tongue is inserted into and secured to the implement and the trailer is attached underneath the implement. Transport arrangements of this type are used to transport agricultural implements.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1992Date of Patent: May 31, 1994Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Helmut Wolf, Gerd Bramstedt, Xaver Mak, Fritz Mak

Patent number: 5056806Abstract: A trailer useful for carrying combine cutter heads - either corn or small grains. The trailer avoids interference with the combine when loading the head and also maintains a proper load balance after the head is loaded. It does so by using a trailer-wheel axle which is movable from a normal road position with the wheels well under the load to a rear position where the wheels are considerably behind the driving wheel of the combine as that machine drives up to the trailer so that the head can be detached and loaded.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1990Date of Patent: October 15, 1991Inventor: Harlan F. Patent number: 4979454Abstract: A jet ski safety device includes a flexible tube of elongate material, which may be made of rubber. The ends of the elongate material are securely attached, by means of plates or brackets, to the surface of a jet ski, so that the material bridges across the top of the foot of the user or rider for the clearance. A spring is provided between the elongate material and the attachment bracket to maintain the elongate material out of contact with the foot of the user, thereby avoiding discomfort during normal use of the jet ski. When the rider is catapulted in the forward direction, at least one foot of the rider engages the elongate material to prevent the rider from being thrown over a handle bar or similar structure.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1989Date of Patent: December 25, 1990Inventor: Ernest A. Patent number: 4188042Abstract: A log carrying trailer chassis especially constructed to withstand the compressive and shear loads exerted on a trailer chassis while also being lighter in weight, thereby increasing the payload to be carried. The chassis assembly comprises a chassis frame having a central body portion, two laterally spaced-apart legs depending from the central body portion, and two shoulder portions located at the top of the body portion directly above the leg portion. The chassis is constructed without the use of a bridge beam common to the prior art chassis, and the reach tube is contructed with opposing sides offset 45.degree. from the horizontal and vertical axes. The primary load bearing member is a rotary thrust bearing centrally mounted on top of the central body portion, so that the weight of the log load is transmitted downwardly through the center of the chassis through plate support means mounted in the central body portion beneath the rotary thrust bearing, and then to the wheels.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1978Date of Patent: February 12, 1980Inventors: Brian L.
