Publication number: 20130292921Abstract: A bicycle stand device that may be removably attached to the axle of a traditional bicycle and easily repositioned between a bicycle stand or stationary bicycle stand position and a stored position. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the bicycle stand device is comprised of at least one axle extender for attachment to a bicycle axle, a bicycle stand for attachment to said at least one axle extender, and a repositioning pin for repositioning said bicycle stand between a stationary bicycle stand position and a stored position without removing the device from the bicycle. The device enables a user to combine the function of a traditional bicycle with that of a stationary bicycle, and eliminates the need for the user to own two bicycles and the expense and storage requirements associated therewith.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2013Publication date: November 7, 2013Inventor: Terry Vanderschuur

Patent number: 6971465Abstract: An apparatus is provided that raises the rear of a snowmobile while it is parked for purposes of storage, repair, and/or warming up. The apparatus is attached to the snowmobile and forms an integral part that goes everywhere with the snowmobile. An integral support rack slides out of the rear bumper of the snowmobile. Once fully extended, the user can lift the rear bumper and drop the support stand down to support the rear of the snowmobile in the air, in much the same manner as a kick stand on a bicycle works. The stand also has a supporting structure that folds out to provide a multipoint support system that prevents the snowmobile from tipping over.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2003Date of Patent: December 6, 2005Inventor: Jason Veara

Patent number: 6474670Abstract: A bicycle balancing system for assisting in the training of a child to ride a bicycle. The bicycle balancing system includes a bracket attachable to a post of a bicycle, a connecting tube removably attached to the bracket, an adjustment tube attached to the bracket for adjustably receiving a U-shaped member, and a handle adjustably attached to the U-shaped member. The U-shaped member and handle may be pivoted to a desired position by releasing and connecting at least one locking detent positionable within a plurality of locking apertures within the connecting tube. The handle may be extended outwardly by releasing a locking detent positionable within a plurality of locking apertures.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2001Date of Patent: November 5, 2002Inventor: Mark S. Patent number: 4917398Abstract: A handle device for bicycles provides an adjustable rider training support point for training helpers. A handle and extension member is pivotally mounted to the rear axle and the pivoting motion conveniently places the handle proximate to the rider, avoiding the extraneous moments and forces experienced by present day fixed handles. The handle is allowed to pivot in the plane of wheel rotation, but the device is fixed in position when the optimum position is achieved. An alternate configuration limits pivoting motion to within a specific range. This allows convenient pushing, pulling and sideways support when the bicycle is at rest or being ridden. The handle is also mounted on telescoping members to conveniently adjust the handle height. The range of motion is also adjustable by a telescoping frame support or a fixture having tapered stops attached to the frame of the bicycle.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1989Date of Patent: April 17, 1990Assignee: Adele L. Patent number: 4541650Abstract: A motorcycle ride-off stand having a generally U-shaped tubular housing which defines an internal open ended chamber. Mounted on the free end of each leg of the housing is a foot pad assembly. Each foot pad assembly is movable a limited amount in respect to the housing. Movement of the foot pad assemblies are in unison but in opposite directions. Movement transferring structure is located within the internal chamber of the housing which includes the use of an aligned series of balls so as to transfer the movement around the bends formed within the tubular housing. A manual actuator assembly is attached to the housing to pivot the entire housing from a stowed position to an extended position. A locking assembly is associated with the housing to fix in position the foot pad assemblies when located at a particular desired position.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1983Date of Patent: September 17, 1985Inventor: Jack B. Patent number: 4153268Abstract: Apparatus for attachment as an accessory to a cycle such as a bicycle, for stabilizing the cycle upon rearward rotation thereof about the rear wheel when the front wheel is raised from the surface upon which the cycle is located. The apparatus comprises a pair of elongated members secured to the structure of the cycle and extending generally rearwardly from the cycle and a brace extending rearwardly from the cycle to remote portions of the elongated members. A wheel arrangement is carried at remote ends of the elongated members for rolling engagement with the surface at a point rearward of the cycle upon rearward rotation thereof about the rear wheel axis through a predetermined angular extent.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1977Date of Patent: May 8, 1979Inventors: Thomas A.
