  • Patent number: 4504076
Abstract: An agricultural implement of the type capable of folding from a wide operating mode to a narrow transport mode. The folding involves forward folding of the right and left wing sections alongside the central, fore-and-aft hitch. Featured are support wheels respectively for the wing sections which are selectively movable from the extended, forward positions in the operating mode to retracted or rearward positions in the transport mode to enable the wing sections to be more closely folded relative to the hitch and thus to achieve a narrower transport width. The closely spaced end-to-end relationship of the wing sections in operating mode provide for relatively narrow row spacing because only the hitch intervenes between the proximate ends of the sections.

  • Patent number: 4346909
Abstract: In its simplest form, a single unit implement such as a swather or the like, can be moved from field position to transport position by moving the rear offside wheels to the desired angle and fixing them in this position and allowing the near side rear wheel to castor freely. When used with multiple units, a tandem hitch is secured to the existing hitch of the front implement and extends to the next following implement with the rear wheel being positioned as heretofore. Adjustment may be provided between the adjacent units to set the relationship of the trailing unit relative to the leading unit.

  • Patent number: 4232876
Abstract: A rear universally supported gang plow mounting attachment is operatively connected to a forward horizontal transverse main header beam by a front to rear extending diagonal beam having its forward end pivotally anchored to one end of the header beam for angular displacement about a vertical axis, the gang plow mounting attachment being universally coupled to the rear end of the diagonal beam. An adjustable length longitudinal beam is pivotally attached at its forward end to the other end portion of the main transverse header beam and pivotally anchored at its rear end to the diagonal beam centrally intermediate the opposite ends thereof by structure operative to adjustably shift the axis of relative angular displacement of the diagonal beam and longitudinal beam longitudinally of the diagonal beam. The main header beam is further inclusive of structure for pivotally anchoring the mounting beam of a forward gang plow thereto for angular displacement about an axis generally paralleling the header beam.

  • Patent number: 4213628
Abstract: A pulling hitch for connecting a plurality of transverse agricultural implements to a single towing vehicle for both field and road usage. First and second rigid horizontal frames respectively tow a pair of independent transverse implements. The first frame is towed behind a tractor by means of a pivotable tongue. The second frame is pulled from the rear of the first frame. It is pivotable between a laterally extended position for field use, and a rearwardly extending position for road travel. Extensible braces or cylinders are utilized to locate the second frame relative to the first, and to locate the pulling tongue of the first frame relative to it.

  • Patent number: 4178010
Abstract: An implement hitch assembly pivotally attached to the rear of a self-propelled pulling vehicle. The hitch assembly tows a front agricultural implement and a rear agricultural implement in a tandem position when traveling on a roadway. By releasing a front latch and at the same time releasing a cable that holds a rear wheel, the forward movement of the implements towed behind the pulling vehicle allows the rear wheel to fall back and moves the rear implement in a side-by-side position with the front implement when the implements are to be used in the field. When the implements are in a side-by-side position, the rear implement may be moved back to a tandem position with the front implement by releasing a rear latch.
