  • Patent number: 11343952
Abstract: An agricultural tractor having a component storage system. The storage system including a storage bracket which is attached to the pick-up hitch of the tractor. The storage bracket allows for the storage of components of the pick-up hitch when not in use, e.g. a pick-up hitch hook, a drawbar. As the bracket is attached to the pick-up hitch itself, the components are stored in a convenient location for the tractor operator, to allow for hitch components to be changed in a relatively fast manner.

  • Patent number: 10899182
Abstract: In accordance with one series of embodiments of the current disclosure, there is provided a tractor hitch system for hitching a tractor to a trailing implement. The tractor hitch system comprises a base, an actuator, a pin and a lever arm. The base is configured to be mountable on a drawbar of the tractor. The actuator is movable between a first position and a second position. The lever arm is attached to the base, connected to the actuator, and attached to the pin. The attachment of the lever arm to the pin allows the pin to pivot and move laterally with respect to the lever arm such that, when the actuator is in the first position, the pin engages the drawbar so as to be able to couple the tractor to the trailing implement, and when the actuator is in the second position, the pin is disengaged from the drawbar so that the tractor is not coupled to the trailing implement.

  • Patent number: 8616576
Abstract: A hitch apparatus has a tongue member with drawpin hole. Upper and lower clevis straps are pivotally attached to a corresponding top and bottom sides of the tongue member about vertical pivot axes, such that the clevis straps can pivot from an operating position, where the upper clevis strap is above the drawpin hole and the lower clevis strap is below the drawpin hole, to an idle position where the clevis straps extend laterally from the tongue member. When the clevis straps are in the operating position, upper and lower clevis holes in the corresponding clevis straps are vertically aligned with the drawpin hole in the tongue member, and a recess is formed between one of the upper and lower clevis straps and the tongue member. A drawpin retainer prevents upward movement of a drawpin out of engagement with the clevis and drawpin holes.

  • Patent number: 7690669
Abstract: An adapter to facilitate attaching non-standard implements to a tractor equipped with a proprietary quick-connect hitch system. An elongated horizontal member, equipped with cylindrical end regions adapted for securing in hook regions of a quick-connect hitch system, carries a ball hitch or other similar universal hitch attachment mechanism. The novel adapter, therefore, allows attachment of implements having a ball hitch, a universal pin type hitch or other non-standard attachment mechanism to tractors equipped with quick-connect hitch systems. The novel adapter is rotatable around its major axis to allow two diverse hitches to be accommodated. For example, a ball-type hitch as well as another type connection my be selected by rotating the adapter 180° around its major axis.

  • Patent number: 7631817
Abstract: A lock assembly operable to secure a lift linkage associated with moving a boom assembly between a lowered, operative position and a raised, inoperative position is provided. The lock assembly includes a lock pin mounted at a carrying frame interconnected between a lift linkage and the boom assembly. The lock assembly also includes a lock plate mounted at the lift linkage. In the raised position of the lift linkage, the lock plate includes a slot configured to align so as receive the lock pin. Once aligned, the boom is pivoted toward the folded, stowed position. As the boom pivots, the boom pushes the lock pin through the slot. The lift linkage is then lowered to seat the lock pin in the slot and thereby secure the lift linkage and supported boom in the raised, folded position.

  • Patent number: 7631886
Abstract: A trailer coupling for tractive vehicles, in particular agricultural tractors, consisting of two vertical guidance cheeks (7), fitted with lateral spacing to the rear of the vehicle, the guidance cheeks including vertical slots (7a) and a bearing member (11) held detachably at the lower end region of the guidance cheeks, on which a coupling member (12) is arranged for attaching an implement. In the case of a prior art trailer coupling, all forces transmitted from the attached implement to the coupling member used, a ball coupling (12) for example, are conducted via the bearing member (11) into the guidance cheeks (7). Thus this involves the undesirable necessity of having to dimension the guidance cheeks in a robust manner, which in turn leads to space problems within the tail end region of the vehicle. Therefore a trailer coupling is to be created which reduces the load on the guidance cheeks (7), when the forces of the attached implement are conducted into the rear of the vehicle.

Abstract: A hitch connection for connecting a lead or “A” trailer to a “B” trailer is disclosed. The hitch connection comprises a female sub-assembly which fits inside the chassis of the “A” trailer at the rear of that trailer. A male sub-assembly which includes a turnplate supported on a chassis includes a tapered prong which locates in the female assembly and is held inside with locking pins. The prong includes a transverse pivot which extends parallel to the axle to allow the prong to pivot relative to the chassis The “B” trailer may be readily separated from the “A” trailer by removal of the locking pins to allow removal of the prong from the female sub-assembly thus allowing unfettered access to the rear of the “A” trailer.

  • Patent number: 7029019
Abstract: The present invention is an attacher having a receiver extending rearward and a boom extending upward and rearward from a base. One or more connectors, such as a gooseneck hitch or a hook, can be at the distal end of the boom. The boom is supported by a pair of bent arms that interconnect the base and the boom. The bent arms connect to the boom near the distal end of the boom. The present invention can connect directly to a three point hitch of a host vehicle, or to an adapter plate having a three point hitch. To accomplish this, two pins extend out from opposed ends of the base and a U-shaped bracket is on the boom. At least one plate can be recessed within the base to anchor the pins to the base, in addition to welding the pins to the base.

  • Patent number: 6533042
Abstract: A three-point hitch adapter designed with a bell crank, for use on tractors. This bell crank operated hitch adapter provides for easier transfer and adjustability of implements used on tractors. The hitch adapter includes a horizontal cross bar attached to two vertical tubular members. The horizontal bar includes a rectangular centerpiece whereby two tubular members are telescopically inserted and retracted by lateral movement all the while engaged within the centerpiece. The centerpiece includes a bell crank that allows the members to be extended laterally to accommodate the implement. The vertical members have T-shaped locking means with a compression spring to help keep the implement in place at the bottom of each vertical tubular member. All vertical and horizontal adjustments can be made while the adapter is still attached to the tractor.

  • Patent number: 6412570
Abstract: A pull-type implement has operating components that are driven by a mechanical drive line on the tongue of the implement. An upper gear box is fixed to the front end of the tongue and a lower gear box swivels relative to the upper gear box about an upright axis passing through the two gear boxes. A hitch that establishes a draft connection between the tongue and the draw bar of a towing tractor has a fore-and-aft receiver that extends beneath the lower gear box and has a lower pivotal connection with the tongue at that location. A mast fixed to and projecting upwardly from the receiver has an upper pivotal connection with the tongue at a location above the upper gear box. The receiver has a forwardly facing socket that loosely receives the draw bar to permit the draw bar to swing up and down to a limited extent about a transverse axis and rotate side-to-side to a limited extent about a fore-and-aft axis when the draw bar is retained within the socket by a locking pin.
