  • Patent number: 8684412
Abstract: A Collapsible Trailer. The trailer is lightweight, but durable, and includes a set of detachable deck segments that can be assembled into a deck. The trailer further includes a suspension assembly that attaches to the deck once the deck is assembled or, alternatively, is permanently attached to one deck segment. Intra-deck segment support is provided by slidable rods that are extendable to bridge between a pair of adjacent segments. Each deck segment has a male edge to be inserted into a female edge to create an exceedingly strong, interlocking hinge-like structure. The deck and trailer can be assembled without the need for any tools. The deck segments, when disassembled, are stackable into a condensed deck stack. A foldable suspension facilitates the stackable storage and transportation of the trailer. The trailer is convertible into a cargo platform that can be attached directly to a conventional trailer hitch receiver on a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8146941
Abstract: A Collapsible Trailer is disclosed. Also disclosed is a trailer that is lightweight, but durable, and includes a set of detachable deck segments that can be assembled into a deck. The trailer further includes a suspension assembly that attaches to the deck once the deck is assembled or, alternatively, is permanently attached to one deck segment. The horizontal intra-deck segment support is provided by slidable rods that are extendable to bridge the intersection between a pair of adjacent segments. Each deck segment has a male edge and a female edge; the male edge can be inserted into the female edge to create an interlocking hinge-like structure to provide longitudinal stability along the special plane of the assembled deck. Furthermore, the deck and trailer can be assembled without the need for any tools or additional equipment. In all cases, the deck segments, when disassembled, stackable into a condensed deck stack.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides vehicle transportation and storage assemblies that can include a moving frame coupled to a loading frame and a support frame extending at an angle other than normal from the moving frame to the loading frame. Vehicle moving, storage, and/or maintenance methods are provided that can include supporting a vehicle with an assembly in a first position, with the first position supporting the vehicle substantially parallel to the road surface, and pivoting the assembly to support the vehicle in a second position, the second position supporting the vehicle substantially normal to the road surface.

  • Patent number: 7338061
Abstract: The present invention provides a critical breakthrough in wheeled vehicle concepts, by enabling stable vehicle operations, where wheelbase configuration varies in relation to the need for roll preventing force. This enables a new form of automobile that is especially suited for electric adaptation. The invention is an articulated vehicle that includes a stabilizer part and a carriage part where the two parts are linked by a two axis joint that locks the parts together in regard to relative roll motion, but allows pitch attitude and yaw attitude of each part to be mutually independent. Such a joint allows wheels to maintain firm contact with road surfaces while liking to cause the carriage to follow the stabilizer, and enables roll stabiliztion effects. In a turn condition, the stabilizer extends a wheel toward the outside of the turn such that upward force on that wheel counters roll torque that occurs due to radial acceleration due to the turning radius and speed of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6454289
Abstract: A trailer hitch cart for a motorcycle comprises a two-wheel cart having a U-shaped frame, with a lateral frame member, a first longitudinal frame member extending forward from one end of the lateral frame member, and a second longitudinal frame member extending forward from the opposite end of the lateral frame member. Wheel mounting assemblies are provided at the forward ends of the respective longitudinal frame member on which the wheels on each side of the cart are mounted. The wheel mounting assemblies include rotation resisting shock absorbers connected by a crank member to the axles on which the wheels of the cart are mounted. As the wheels move up and down over the bumps in the road surface, the wheels on their axles rotate the crank members which applies rotational pressure to the shaft of the rotational type shock absorber.

  • Patent number: 6000708
Abstract: A self tracking land vehicle includes a number of cargo or passenger cars and a drive car. Each cargo car may have a chassis with a standardized container mounted on it. At least front and rear axles which have at least two inflatable tires each are provided for each of the cars. The front axle is pivotable about a vertical axis with respect to the car, and the rear axle is fixed. A substantially transversely rigid connection connects the front of each car to the rear of the preceding car, to form a land train. Each car and associated transversely rigid connection is substantially the same length, and all of the axles of all of the cars are spaced from each other substantially the same effective longitudinal distance, so that the train is self tracking. At least some of the axles of some of the cars may be driven by an electric motor, and a lead drive car is provided having a front with at least one steerable axle, a power plant in the front car producing electricity to drive all of the electric motors.

  • Patent number: 4887831
Abstract: A convertible hitch for mobile equipment includes a first hitch plate attached to the mobile equipment and having a king pin protruding from a central portion thereof, and a second hitch plate with a central aperture mounted on a wheel and axle assembly which includes a tow bar member. A ball joint is provided between the second hitch plate and the wheel and axle assembly to provide for relative movement therebetween. The king pin protruding from the first hitch plate includes a circumferential groove which is engageable with a securing mechanism of a releasable fifth wheel, so that the mobile equipment can be transported on the highway by a conventional highway vehicle, such as a semitrailer truck. The king pin of the first hitch plate is also receivable in the central aperture of the second hitch plate, so that the first and second hitch plates can be removably fastened to one another to in turn attach the wheel and axle assembly to the mobile equipment.

  • Patent number: 4589670
Abstract: A truck and trailer assembly adapted to travel over the road in a traveling mode, where the trailer is spaced a substantial distance from the truck, and also adapted to operate in a maneuvering mode where the trailer is more closely coupled to the truck, and the front steerable wheels of the trailer are raised out of ground engagement. In the various embodiments, this is accomplished by rotating the reach of the trailer relative to the trailer, so as to lift the forward wheels of the trailer from the ground. The reach is conveniently shortened by providing the reach as three telescoping members.
