When the safety conditions are met, the coupler, such as a fifth wheel or ball hitch, disconnect function is enabled. When the safety conditions are not met, the coupler disconnect function is disabled and, optionally, the vehicle operator is alerted to the unsafe configuration of the vehicle.

    Abstract: The present invention is an anti-counter rotation device that includes a gear wheel and a latch. The gear wheel is attached to the shaft of a trailer landing gear. The base plate mounts the latch to the trailer landing gear and includes an axle. In a first position, the latch engages the gear and permits rotation of the shaft a first direction (e.g. clockwise (CW)), but prevents rotation of the shaft in the opposite or second direction (i.e. counter clockwise (CCW)). In a second position, the latch operates in an opposite manner; that is, the latch permits rotation in the second direction (i.e. CCW), but prevents rotation in the first direction (i.e. CW). The latch has a width sufficient to accommodate multiple horizontal positions of the crank handle or shaft. One or more spacers on the axle or base plate may be utilized to locate the latch in relation to the gear. A locking pin may be used to insure the spacers and latch remain on the axle.

    Abstract: A hydraulic leveling system for a vehicle has at least one set of hydraulic jacks that are extended by applying hydraulic pump pressure to an extend side of the jacks and are retracted by relieving hydraulic pressure from the extend side and applying hydraulic pressure to a retract side of the jacks. A pressure sensor has a pressure set point that when it is exceeded the system generates a signal indicating retraction of the jacks. The system operates so that after the pressure sensor set point is exceeded, the system turns off the pump and continues to hold open a valve that applies pressure from the pump to the retract side of the jacks for a period of time and that permits flow to continue from the extend side of the jacks to tank. After such period of time the system once again checks whether the pressure sensor is still activated and if it is not still activated, the system turns the pump back on and continues to retract the jacks.

    Abstract: A height-adjustable support for semi-trailers and the like includes a shaft tube body, a slidable support inner tube arranged in the shaft tube and body and having a foot mounted to an end region thereof by a nut located on a spindle which is drivable by a transmission, wherein the transmission has a switchable spur gear region and a beveled gear stage. The shifting region of the transmission comprises a low-gear pinion and a fast-gear wheel, wherein the low-gear pinion is coupled to a drive shaft that can mesh with a low-gear gearwheel, the fast-gear gearwheel is adapted to drive a fast-gear pinion, and wherein the fast-gear gearwheel is coupled to the drive shaft. The drive shaft is supported in an unrotatable and axially slidable manner in a sleeve bearing that is supported rotatably in at least a select one of a bearing block or load bearing base supporting the spindle.
