  • Publication number: 20020093191
Abstract: A sheet mailer construction including a standard size paper sheet having two horizontal score lines and two horizontal perforation lines, forming a top flap, first and second panels, a tear-off panel and a bottom tear-off strip. Left and right vertical perforation lines define left and right sheet side edge tear-off strips. The user on his personal computer formats the desired indicia to be printed on the three panels using his (desk top ink jet) printer. After printing, the left side, right side and bottom tear-off strips are torn off, the tear-off panel is folded up towards the second panel, the first and second panels are folded together, and the top flap is folded onto the outside of the second panel. The mailer is mailed to the recipient who breaks the seal of the sticker holding the top flap to the second panel, unfolds the mailer, reads the printed information on the inside surfaces of the first and second panels, and tears off the tear-off panel.

  • Patent number: 6257624
Abstract: A form for creating a postcard having printing on both sides includes a front sheet and a back sheet, which are laminated using a pressure sensitive adhesive on a back surface of the front sheet. A fold line extends across the front sheet, while a tear line underlying the fold line extends across the back sheet. A gap in the adhesive preferably extends along the fold line. On one side of the fold line opposite to the direction of the gap, the inner surface of the back sheet has a release coating restricting the adhesion of the adhesive layer. After printing on the front surface of the front sheet, the section of the back sheet having this release coating is removed and discarded, and the front sheet is folded along the fold line, thereby providing a document having printing on both sides and a thickness sufficient for a postcard.

The decal adhesive engages the release coating so that the decal and its associated pressure sensitive adhesive may be readily removed from the patch. The patch may be secured to the paper on either face thereof; if secured at the bottom face, the patch and decal can flex into the cutout to provide a minimum thickness when in a stack of mailer intermediates. Where the patch is secured at its top face, the maximum thickness of the patch and decal combination is preferably about 0.008 inches, which is significantly less than the thickness at the decal in prior art carriers.

  • Patent number: 6033392
Abstract: A bag for securing an irrigation syringe to an IV pole includes a first sheet of flexible material having four sides, and a second sheet of flexible material having four sides which are sealingly attached to the first sheet along three sides thereof. The unsealed side of the second sheet defines a mouth for accessing the interior of the bag. The interior region is sized for receiving the irrigation syringe therein. A flap which is sealingly attached to the first sheet at the top of the sheet extends over the mouth in such a manner that it closes the mouth of the bag to prevent airborne particulates from entering the bag, thus protecting the syringe. A slot formed in the first sheet is provided for securing the bag to an IV pole. The inner surfaces of the first and second sheets and the flap are treated with anti-microbial material for substantially inhibiting bacteria on the syringe.

  • Patent number: 5924737
Abstract: The present invention discloses a postcard check which can be automatically processed by the U.S. Postal Service and a check clearinghouse. The postcard check meets all the dimensional requirements set forth by the U.S. Postal Service to be classified as a postcard. Moreover, on one side of the postcard check, a postal bar code is placed and positioned such that the postal bar code permits the U.S. Postal Service to automatically process the postcard check through the U.S. mail system. Furthermore, on the other side of the postcard check, a MICR number is placed to allow the check to be processed automatically at a clearinghouse and the banks. Since the postal bar code and the MICR number are on opposite sides of the postcard check, the MICR number is not mutilated by the U.S. Postal Service when it automatically processes the check.
