Abstract: A mailing device and method including a bar coded return label removably mounted to the original communication, but attachable to a return envelope supplied by the recipient. An original document includes a letterhead having the label removably mounted thereto which duplicates the identity of the sender in both written and bar coded data appearing beneath the label on the letterhead. The label includes self-adhesive allowing the label to be removed from the document and mounted to a return envelope identifying the original sender. The removable stickers may be shaped as a business card and arranged in a vertical stack. Account indicia are printed on the label for payment of document delivery fees, such as postal fees, by the sender. Instructions are set forth on the sticker backing.
Abstract: A single sheet of paper is divided into at least original and copy panels by fold line(s). Information entered on the two, front and back surfaces of the original panel are reproduced on the two surfaces of the copy panel by carbonless copy treatments. In one embodiment, the original panel is fully coated or partially coated with carbonless CB treatment, on both surfaces, and the copy panel is fully coated or partially coated with carbonless CF treatment. In a variation of this embodiment, the original panel is not coated, and the copy panel is coated in selected areas with carbonless SC treatment. In a second embodiment, the original panel is not coated, an image-transferring panel is fully coated on both surfaces with carbonless CB treatment, and the copy panel is fully coated with carbonless CF treatment. In a variation of this embodiment, the image-transferring panel is formed of a separate sheet of paper.
Abstract: A magazine is provided with an insert which can be utilized as a return mailer. The insert can be stapled or glued in place when the plies of the magazine are assembled together and includes a multi-ply portion in another part of the magazine. The multi-ply portion has a pocket which contains one or more inserts and has a flap which can close over the pocket so that, when removed, the multi-ply portion can be used as a return mailer.
Abstract: Apparatus useful in preventing or reducing risks of transmitting an infectious disease, primarily AIDS, or genetic disorder, comprises identification means such as a personal card bearing identity particulars of a first participant and security feature(s) and a storage medium such as a certificate or data based, bearing legible or retreivable test result data concerning the particular defect. A second participant consults the result before permitting intimate contact or accepting a donation of blood, body tissue or similar material.
Abstract: A process for preparing a confidential postcard contains dehydrating a starting paper material containing 25 to 45% by weight of fibers of a thermoplastic resin and 55 to 75% by weight of fibers of a natural plant to thereby form a paper layer, heating, during or after drying, the paper layer at a temperature not lower than a softening point of the thermoplastic resin fibers to thereby obtain a paper sheet in which the fibers of the thermoplastic resin retain fiber shape and are entangled with the fibers of the natural plant, inscribing a statement to be kept confidential on the paper sheet, superposing the paper sheet to conceal the statement and attaching provisionally the superposed paper sheet by heating under pressure at a temperature not lower than a softening point of the thermoplastic resin fibers to obtain the confidential postcard. The confidential postcard is capable of being peeled off with the statement on the paper sheet being left intact.

Abstract: For periodic billing of merchandise, utilities, services or the like, the billing organization prepares and sends to the customer a unique bill (10) which has diecuts (18) and (20) located to position a personal check of conventional size on the bill in a position so that the dollar amounts on the bill and on the check are in juxtaposition. A preaddressed envelope of the same size as the bill is prepared with a window at the return address position so located that the address identification information on the check appears in the envelope window and is used as the return address.
Abstract: This invention is concerned with a continuous assembly of self mailer web parts secured together by heat seal adhesive in which a part of the assembly to receive a personal identification number has attached to it a patch of self copy paper with the sensitive coating side of the self copy paper towards the form assembly and other other side of the patch bearing masking printing.
Abstract: A reusable greeting card formed of a single-folded sheet having the greeting message provided on the upper portion of the card. The sheet is vertically folded and has at least one removable first sender's signature section extending across the bottom of the card and attached to the card by a frangible section. A second signature section is provided above the frangible area, thus allowing the card to be reused upon removal of the first signature section. Different size envelopes are provided with the card one of which is sized to receive the card only after removal of the first signature portion.
