Patent number: 8453675Abstract: A rotary union includes a non-rotating machine component having a receiving counterbore, a media channel opening, and a control channel. A housing is positioned within the receiving counterbore and has a bore and a control chamber in fluid communication with the control channel. A non-rotating seal member is slidably and sealingly disposed within the bore in the housing and has a media channel in fluid communication with the media channel opening and the receiving counterbore. The non-rotating seal member can be selectively extended or retracted within the bore of the housing, such that selective engagement of a face seal is accomplished under different operating conditions of the rotary union.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2009Date of Patent: June 4, 2013Assignee: Deublin CompanyInventors: David Burrus, Graig Aaron LaCroix

Patent number: 7793990Abstract: A fluid connection comprised of a first fitting having a body with a first end and a second end. A passage extends through the body from the first end to the second end. A bracket is mounted to the second end of the body. The bracket defines a space adjacent the second end. A mounting element is provided for mounting the first end of the body to a fluid inlet line. A piston is movable within the passage. The piston has an outer surface, an inlet side facing the first end of the body and an outlet side facing the second end of the body. An aperture through the piston fluidly connects the inlet side of the piston to the outlet side of the piston. A second fitting, having a fluid opening therethrough, is dimensioned to be slidably received within the space adjacent the second end of the fitting. The piston is movable into engagement with the second fitting with the aperture in the piston communicating with the fluid opening in the second fitting.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2007Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Assignee: American Sterilizer CompanyInventor: Maxime Robert

Patent number: 7552949Abstract: A joint restraint includes a split ring terminating in radially outwardly extending flanges. A shell includes a cylindrical sleeve, an annular flange at one end and arms projecting generally tangentially for securement behind lugs on a standard bell end of a fitting. With the split ring disposed within the shell and flanges projecting through a radial opening through the shell, a pipe end may be inserted through the joint restraint into the bell. By compressing the split ring about the pipe end by drawing the flanges toward one another and bolting them in place, relative axial movement of the pipe end and fitting is precluded by engagement of the shell flange and split ring.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2005Date of Patent: June 30, 2009Assignee: The Harrington CorporationInventors: John E. Patent number: 6416085Abstract: A fluid pressure hose coupling for connecting a flexible hose to a pressurized fluid line. The coupling has a connecting end section for securement to a pressurizable line and a cylindrical nipple end section for securing an end section of a flexible hose thereto. The nipple end section has a tapered cone-like outer surface having a larger outer diameter section at a free end thereof. A cylindrical hose clamping sleeve is positionable about the nipple end section and also has an inwardly tapered inner surface whose diameter is larger at the front end thereof and wherein the inner surface of the clamping sleeve and the outer surface of the cylindrical nipple end section extend parallel to one another.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2000Date of Patent: July 9, 2002Inventor: Branimir Markovic

Patent number: 5653473Abstract: A label includes two pressure-sensitive composites which are laminated together to provide a multiple label construction. The label can be affixed to a surface and still have a top composite removable at a later time to provide a fully pressure-sensitive label which can be reapplied to another surface.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1995Date of Patent: August 5, 1997Assignee: CCL Industries Inc.Inventors: Henry A.
