Abstract: An elastomeric lip seal joint for sealing the inner liner and grout layers when joining two sections of multiwall pipe having an outer steel casing and an inner liner. The ring-shaped lip seal joint comprises a gasket with insulating material completely covering its outer surface. The insulating material is capable of shielding the gasket from the heat produced when the sections of outer steel casing are welded together. The use of the lip seal joint simplifies the process of joining sections of multiwall pipe. Each side of the lip seal joint is inserted into one of the annular voids at each end of the pipe, thereby sealing the inner liner and grout. • Patent number: 6843480
Abstract: A high pressure ring seal for tube assembly joints provides structural foundation ring having inside and outside circumferential channels between end rims. The channels and rims are separated by a web of integral ring material. This web is perforated by a plurality of apertures. As an integral coating within both channels and integrally tied through the web apertures is a coating of polymer sealant material. Inside and outside faces of the sealant are pressure equalized by vent apertures through the web apertures.

  • Patent number: 6721381
Abstract: A seal arrangement for providing a seal between a nuclear reactor in-core instrument housing and an instrument contained within the housing includes a lower seal assembly surrounding an outer portion of the in-core instrument housing, an upper seal assembly surrounding an outer portion of the in-core instrument, a seal housing enclosing the lower and upper seal assemblies, and lower and upper compression assemblies positioned on respective ends of the seal housing. The compression assemblies each include a drive nut and a compression collar. The compression collars engage and apply an axial load on the seal assemblies to maintain a reliable seal between the seal housing and the outer portion of the in-core instrument housing, and between the seal housing and the outer portion of the in-core instrument.

  • Patent number: 6682108
Abstract: The portable tank defines a chamber within which is disposed a liner having a sealing interface with a tank discharge assembly. The features of the sealing interface of the liner with the discharge assembly and this discharge assembly itself virtually eliminate any risk that contents of the tank will seep or flow into the space outside of the liner and between the liner and the inner walls of the tank. The method of installing and using the liner system are also disclosed.
