Abstract: A clamp assembly prevents separation of a thermal sleeve penetrating a nuclear reactor pressure vessel wall and a jet pump riser elbow welded one to the other and lying within an annular space between the pressure vessel wall and core shroud. The clamp assembly includes a pair of heads having semi-cylindrical recesses. Pins project inwardly from each of the heads in the semi-cylindrical recesses and have axes which lie parallel to one another. By using actuators mounting multiple electrodes, holes may be formed in situ in the adjoining ends of the thermal sleeve and elbow. Once the holes are formed, the heads can be applied in situ with the pins being received through the holes and the heads clamped to one another. Thug, the pins in each of the sleeve and elbow prevent separating movement of the sleeve and elbow in the event of failure of the welded joint therebetween.

Abstract: Connection for, on the one hand, a male ejection joining piece (23) of a fuel cartridge (20) intended to supply compressed gas to a compressed gas attachment device and, on the other hand, a male inlet joining piece (32) of a device (30) for inletting compressed gas into the device, comprising sealing means (11) intended to ensure the sealing tightness of the connection between the two joining pieces (23, 32) and a female seal support (1) arranged to receive the two male joining pieces (23, 32). The sealing means (11) are arranged to extend right across the seal plane of the two male joining pieces (23, 32).
The invention applies well to stopper attachment devices with a compressed gas-propelled plunger.

Abstract: A connection fitting (1) for attaching tubes, corrugated hoses, pipes, cables or other oblong bodies (2), in an opening or hole (3) of a wall (4), of a housing is provided. In this, the connection fitting (1) has an attachment projection (5) that can be anchored in the opening (3) and has retaining projections (8) located on abutment contact studs (7) formed by axial slots (6) that project radially outwardly across from a constriction. The abutment contact studs (7) and their retaining projections (8) are designed such that they have only a part of their retaining effect after insertion of the attachment projection (5) into the opening (3), i.e. they can be moved out of the opening (3) under a loading opposite to the insertion direction.
