Abstract: A tubular string for a subterranean well comprises a first string that is located in the well and that can access or traverse horizons of interest, such as during drilling, completion, or workover. A second tubular string is assembled above this first tubular string and is selected so that only this second tubular string normally traverses a blow out preventer during periods when there is an elevated risk that the blow out preventer will be actuated. The second tubular string is made of a more easily shearable material than the first tubular string, such as a titanium alloy, an aluminum alloy, or a composite material. A third or further tubular strings may be assembled above the second tubular string, such as in subsea applications.
Abstract: The exhaust pipe repair system replaces the damaged portion of the pipe that has been removed from the pipe network that transports a gas. The exhaust pipe repair system creates a fluidic connection between a plurality of terminal ends in the pipe network formed where the pipe was removed. The exhaust pipe repair system includes a transport apparatus and a plurality of collars. The transport apparatus provides a replacement transport channel. The plurality of collars attach the exhaust pipe repair system to the plurality of terminal ends. The plurality of collars: 1) forms a gas impermeable seal that prevents gas from leaking out of the pipe network; and, 2) allows for the adjustment of exhaust pipe repair system to match the span between the plurality of terminal ends.
Abstract: A nozzle with changeable press fit and a method for calibrating a nozzle is described. The nozzle may be used in a nozzle/flapper type servovalve. The method comprises the steps of providing a nozzle within a cylindrical body defining a cylindrical bore, the nozzle having a tubular shape with an outer cylindrical surface and an inner radial surface, the method further comprises the steps of positioning a first, tubular locking member within the nozzle, and axially moving the first, tubular locking member within the nozzle. The first tubular locking member is configured to cause the nozzle to become positionally fixed at a selected position within the bore in response to the first, tubular locking member being axially moved relative to the nozzle. A nozzle positioning system is also described herein.
Abstract: A tool joint connection includes a first tool joint and a second tool joint. The first tool joint has a male connector portion with a lobed polygonal profile extending longitudinally from one end of the first tool joint toward an opposing end thereof. The second tool joint has a female connector portion having a lobed polygonal profile extending longitudinally from one end of the second tool joint toward an opposing end thereof. The lobed polygonal profile of the male connector portion corresponds to the lobed polygonal profile of the female so the male connector portion of the first tool joint is non-rotatably receivable in the female connector portion of the second tool joint to form a connection between the first tool joint and the second tool joint.

The shut-off valve housing (1) comprises a housing element (8) made of plastic and at least one connector element (9) made of metal which is connected to the housing element (8), wherein the water-guiding channel (3) extends through the housing element (8) and through the connector element (9).
Abstract: The present invention provides a press-fit joining apparatus 100 where two collet-chuck-type electrodes (first collet-chuck-type electrode 160 and second collet-chuck-type electrode 170) are held using a die set structural body 130 and a sub platen structural body 140. According to the press-fit joining apparatus 100 of the present invention, it is possible to manufacture a product which is required to have higher coaxiality and higher joining strength than conventional products (for example, products such as a drive force transmitting part, the manufacture of which requires the supply of a large and uniform electric current to a joining portion).

Abstract: Glue-free hinge assemblies including press-fit pins are disclosed. A press-fit pin of one material can mechanically attach to a workpiece of another material during a press fit operation. The press-fit pin can include a pin shaft having a chamfered first end, a notched portion, a grooved portion having axial grooves, a clinching feature, and a sealing feature. The chamfered first end can guide the press-fit pin into a counter-bored receiving hole in the workpiece. The axial grooves can etch the workpiece material to rotationally lock the press fit-pin into the receiving hole. The clinching feature can plastically deform workpiece material into the notched portion to axially lock the press-fit pin into receiving hole without causing substantial axial expansion of the workpiece. The sealing feature can form a stepped fit between an outer diameter of the press-fit pin and an outer diameter of the counter-bored receiving hole.

Abstract: A flexible pouring spout of segmented tubing having an internally threaded adapter cap at one end for connecting with a threaded neck of a fluid container, and an externally threaded terminal end which is adapted to connecting with the adapter cap thereby enabling the device to form a loop of itself. Thus, the interior of the spout remains clean even if it has a sticky or oily substance thereon, and any fluid within the device is retained therein. Also provided is a sealable air inlet valve for allowing air to be drawn into the spout when in use to prevent fluid lock in the device and bottle collapse, and to facilitate rapid and efficient pouring of the fluid from its container.
Abstract: A valve structure may include a valve body having a plurality of connecting tubes; a resilient cover, one end of which forming a ring portion and the other of which having a tapered cone portion, and the resilient cover plugs into the connecting tube through the cone portion to form a restricting position; a connecting unit that is tubular, having a tubular connecting section and a plugging section, and the plugging section plugs into the through hole of the resilient cover, so the second stopping surface is against the ring portion of the resilient cover; and a locking cover covering the tubular connecting section of the connecting unit to secure the connecting unit and the resilient cover at the connecting tube of the valve body.
Abstract: A fitting for releasably coupling two structures and for maintaining fluid communication between the two structures has a first and second fitting member. The first fitting member includes a first ferromagnetic coupling element, and the second fitting member includes a second ferromagnetic coupling element. The first and second fitting members are constructed and arranged so as to be moved into engaged relation with one another and to be moved apart from on another so as to be separate from one another. Magnetic attraction between the first and second fitting members maintains the fitting members in engagement, and the fitting members are decoupled by applying force sufficient to overcome the magnetic attraction.
