  • Patent number: 11306849
Abstract: A joint having a male joint member and female joint member with enhanced ease of assembly, in which a raised stop on the male joint member is limited to displacement between a constriction on the female joint member and a locking ring segment, in which the locking ring segment and constriction are separated by an unobstructed traverse region that allows the male joint member to slide axially when under stress without separation from the female joint member, and in which a compressible spacer is installed between the male joint member and female joint member to ensure that the raised stop is installed in an intermediate position between the constriction and the locking ring segment. The compressible spacer withstands forces associated with assembly but allows the joint to compress during extreme events to prevent failure of the joint during extreme events, such as earthquakes, floods, and landslides.

  • Patent number: 11035139
Abstract: An above ground pool assembly comprises a bracket and a pool body. The bracket includes a plurality of horizontal and vertical support members. The horizontal support members couple to one another forming an upper frame. The plurality of vertical support members couple to the upper frame. The pool body has a side wall, wherein a top of the side wall is provided with a plurality of sleeves. The sleeves attach to the plurality of horizontal support members. Each horizontal support member has an outer surface with an uneven texture. The uneven texture reduces the contact areas between the pool body and the horizontal support members and avoids adhesion between the pool body and the horizontal support members, so that the pool body and the bracket can be separated easily, thereby reducing the possibility of damaging the pool body. Moreover, the wear resistance and slip resistance of the bracket are improved.

The sleeve is formed as a sheet which is rolled to form the sleeve, wherein the first side of the sleeve defines a substantially continuous annular corrugation to cooperatively engage an end of a first pipe section. The connection of the pipe coupling to the first pipe section end occurs at a factory. The second side of the sleeve is in the form of a bell and defines a non-corrugated surface which is adapted to slidably receive an end of the second pipe section in the field, to thereby interconnect the adjacent ends of pipe. Gaskets may be provided to further reduce infiltration or exfiltration at the coupling.

Abstract: A heat exchanger design is described which includes header plates, apertures, seals and flow tubes. A plurality of apertures in at least one header plate are configured to allow a flow tube to be inserted into or removed from the aperture as a whole at an angle. A seal is included within the aperture and is supported by differing diameters of the aperture wall. The seal engages the flow tube in a manner to allow high pressure operation of the heat exchanger when the flow tube is perpendicular to the header plate.

  • Patent number: 6905144
Abstract: A sealing system adapted for placement into an exterior groove of a structure. The sealing system includes a seal ring having a generally ‘L’-shaped cross-section. The sealing system further includes a canted-coil spring. The seal ring includes an inner surface, an outer surface and two side surfaces. The seal ring's inner surface features a groove that increases the ring's flexibility. The seal ring's outer surface protrudes outwardly until it is pushed inwardly through contact with an inner surface of an external structure. As the outer surface moves inwardly, it causes a compression of the spring while a part of the seal ring flexes and bends about the seal ring's groove. At the same time, the outer surface becomes reoriented in a manner that cause its shape to change to a flatter configuration that is more complementary to the inner surface of the internal structure.

The ferrule is expanded as it is mounted on the cylinder and exerts a compressive force against the outer peripheral face of the cylinder for forming a secure seal. A rib may be disposed on an inner annular surface of the ferrule and an adhesive may be applied for enhancing the seal between the cylinder and the ferrule.

Abstract: A straight opposing member insertion section located at the end of a hose tube and has a ring-shaped groove for inserting a sealing ring. The opposing member insertion section has a ring-shaped tongue piece and/or a ring-shaped ring supporting section. Tongue-piece has a sloped surface and an overhang positioned over the ring-shaped groove. Ring supporting section is an indentation on the ring-shaped groove that protrudes away from the end of the hose tube. A sealing ring is tightly inserted into the ring-shaped groove. A ring-shaped engagement projection on the end of the tube-shaped opposing member is pushed into the opposing member insertion section until the engagement projection abuts the sealing ring. Sealing ring and the section of the tube wall with the ring-shaped groove can be constructed to handle seal deterioration. The resulting fuel hose connection structure has superior fuel sealing properties, fuel impermeability and can be contructed simplely and inexpensively.

Abstract: A pipe gasket and a method of forming a pipe joint between a metal spigot pipe and metal belled pipe. The gasket has three regions to facilitate a seal. A seal region forms the primary seal within the groove of the belled pipe. A sleeve region extending from the seal region forms a sleeve around the end of an inserted spigot pipe to protect the pipe from contact with fluids flowing there through. A retainer region coupled to the sleeve region covers the end of the spigot pipe and also acts as a stop to prevent over-insertion of the spigot pipe into the belled pipe. The three regions cooperate to form a sleeve around the spigot pipe end and to prevent over-insertion of the spigot pipe into the belled pipe.
