    Abstract: A connector for detachably securing an end of a tube, such as a catheter, to a fluid port of a fluid transfer device, such as an implantable device, the connector having a body part which defines a coupler for coupling to a coupler receiver of the transfer device. The connector includes a sleeve which fits within the body part and defines an aperture for compressively receiving an end of the tube which has been fitted over a fluid port of the transfer device. The body part is rotatable about the sleeve to facilitate coupling of the coupler and coupler receiver. In one embodiment the sleeve has an inner diameter at one end large enough to slide freely over the tube when it is fitted over the fluid port, and the diameter decreases at an intermediate point along the length of the sleeve to provide for compressive axial movement of the tube to form an annular thickness portion of the tube where it abuts the face of the transfer device.

    Abstract: A drain hose assembly for an automatic washer comprising a flexible corrugated plastic hose having an end inter-connectable with the automatic washer and a second barbed connection end insertable into a tubular elastomeric connection member such that a rotatable sealable connection is provided between the barbed connection end and the tubular elastomeric connection member. A flexible corrugated plastic extension member may be provided having the tubular elastomeric connection member integrally molded onto one end. The extension member may have, at the end opposite the elastomer connection member, a barbed connection end for further interconnections. The extension member may therefore, be sealably and rotatably connected to the drain hose for adding length. An elastomeric tubular nozzle formed into an approximate 180.degree. arc and having an enlarged end including the formed elastomeric connection member may be provided for providing a discharge end to the drain hose assembly.

    Abstract: The fluid-tight coupling is designed for connecting a fixed hydraulic line with a rotary hydraulic line. The fixed line (1) carries on its end an axially movable tubular piston (7) provided with a hemispherical head (8); the rotary line (2) has an offset end portion (15), the axis (Y) of which is eccentric with respect to the axes (X) and (Z) of the pipes (1) and (2), this end portion (15) being also provided with a hemispherical head (16); between the two hemispherical heads (8, 16) is interposed a wobbling rotary core piece (17) formed with a central orifice (18) and with two opposed concave conical bearing surfaces for fluid-tight engagement with both hemispherical heads (8, 16) respectively. In a preferred embodiment, the axial thrust exerted on the hemispherical head (16) corresponding to the rotary pipe (2) is supported by a hydrostatic bearing (24, 25) and the rotary pipe (2) is also supported by a hydrostatic bearing (22).

    Abstract: A device for automatically controlling the temperature of welding bands consisting of a dividing circuit for determining the temperature of the welding band. A controller is provided to control the output power of the heating circuit in dependence upon the deviation of the determined actual temperature of the welding band from a predetermined desired value. The output voltage of the dividing circuit is an analog voltage representing the high-temperature resistance of the welding band, and is applied to a second dividing circuit with an analog voltage representing the low-temperature resistance of the welding band. This generates an analog voltage representing the quotient of the two input voltages of the second dividing circuit.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for electrically heat welding a thermoplastic fitting having an electric resistance heating element disposed therein whereby a regulated quantity of electric power is supplied to the heating element during the welding process and the making of a high quality weld is insured. The initial magnitude of the current flowing through the heating element is sensed and compared with predetermined current levels for various sizes of fittings whereby the size of the fitting as well as the total time the controlled electric power should be supplied to the heating element of the fitting for the making of a high quality weld are determined.

The ridge has an interfering fit with respect to the land surface on the female member, and at least one of the members is molded or relatively soft resilient plastic so that when the members are pressed together the ridge clicks past the land surface and into permanent register with the groove with detent action, accompanied by movement of the guide surface into a position opposite the centering surface for relative swiveling of the members free of cocking or binding.

    Abstract: A flexible vacuum cleaner hose is provided with a simple and inexpensive end fitting for use with various vacuum cleaner accessories and attachments. The hose is a corrugated plastic, i.e., it has annular rings or corrugations formed therein. Each section of hose has a predetermined length with a suitable cuff on each end thereof. Each of the cuffs includes a snap lock. The end fitting is a one piece molded member having a locking seat and a tapered end section or a threaded end section. The tapered section is adapted to be forced into the cuff so as to spread the snap lock on the cuff. The snap lock rides over the end section and drops into the locking seat formed therebehind. This is effective to lock the end fitting on the hose while allowing it to remain free to rotate inside the cuff.
