Variable Length Patents (Class 285/298)
  • Patent number: 11952879
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for connecting a hydraulic fracturing fluid source to various wells at a given well site. In general, use of disclosed systems and methods provide for repositioning (refocusing) the hydraulic fracturing operation amongst multiple wells may be achieved. In one example, a system to reroute fracturing fluid from a source to various wells at a well site may be provided. The use of adapters and quick clamp connections allow hydraulic fracturing fluid to be rerouted between various wells in a manner to decrease the cost and reduce hazards associated with changing hydraulic fracturing locations. Modular components of the system (and an overall modular design of the system itself) may allow a centralized manifold to be relocated to various locations at one or more well sites.

Abstract: Described are methods, apparatuses, and systems for securing a vacuum appliance to a vacuum device including a first locking adapter that includes a tab and a second locking adapter that includes a receiving slot. The first and second adapters form an airtight seal when the tab is received by the slot by rotating one adapter relative to the other. The receiving slot can include a slot terminus to restrict rotational movement of the first adapter relative to the second. The apparatus can further include a securing slot that can secure the tab within a slot terminus such that a portion of the second locking adapter adjacent to the receiving slot is adapted to flex. Through the described rotation, the first and second adapters tighten and become rigid thus minimizing both the slippage between these two elements and the leakage between the vacuum device and any attached appliances.

  • Patent number: 6565128
Abstract: A device and a method for coupling a fluid rail to injectors by a connector, the connector having telescopic tube members extending between a first end and a second end, a sealing member disposed between a first tubular member and the fluid rail, a sealing member disposed between a second tubular member and the injector. The tubes are urged apart by either hydraulic pressure or by a resilient member to form a tight seal between the hemispherical distal ends of the connector to the respective fluid rail outlet and injector inlet. This invention also permits the coupling of a fluid rail to at least one fuel injector by providing a fluid rail, a flexible coupler on the injector inlet, mounting the nested or telescopic connector into both the flexible coupler and the injector inlet, inserting the fluid rail onto the connector and then urging the telescopic connector apart to form a tight seal against the inlet and the outlet.

  • Patent number: 6422610
Abstract: A deformable fluid supply line for use on a semiconductor fabrication machine is described which includes a generally S-shaped expandable joint connecting between two straight conduit sections for providing full communication thereinbetween and for providing stress absorbing characteristics such that the expandable joint can be stretched or otherwise deformed by at least 2 cm without breaking connections with the two straight conduit sections. When the generally S-shaped expandable joint is provided with a length of at least 10 cm, a deformation of at least 3.5 cm can be tolerated by the expandable joint without causing failure or otherwise damages in the connections with the two straight conduit sections. The deformable fluid supply line can survive an earthquake of the magnitude of Richter 5 scale. The invention further discloses a method for connecting a deformable fluid supply line to a fabrication machine by using an S-shaped joint connected in between two straight conduit sections.

Abstract: The invention concerns a telescopic tube (10), in particular for sprinkler systems, comprising an outer tube (12) and an inner tube (14) which is movable relative to the latter and has an inner end piece (36) which extends inside the outer tube and has an outer diameter which is larger than the inner tube in their adjoining regions. The telescopic tube (10) further comprises a securing element (26) which surrounds the inner tube and is provided for the outer tube, the outer end (22) of the latter extending in said securing element (26). According to the invention, in order to provide a precise connection between the inner and outer tubes using precision screw machine parts in particular, the outer end (22) of the outer tube is widened and extends inside an annular mounting (24) of the securing element which in turn comprises an outer edge (34) which extends externally along the outer tube and is deformed in the direction of the outer end of the outer tube when the latter has been fitted in the mounting.
