  • Patent number: 8646813
Abstract: An exemplary connector assembly includes an elongated body with an internal passage for a conduit or cables. A body aperture region with a body fastener aperture is set between two elongated slots. The body aperture region may radially bulge out from the body, and may alternatively or additionally include an aperture flange protruding from the body aperture region. A U-shaped connector clip includes two parallel teeth that are inserted in the two slots, and a clip body having a clip fastener aperture. A fastener is inserted through the fastener apertures, securing the connector clip to the body. A fastening clip secures the fastener to the connector clip and keeps the connector clip from falling back into the slots as the connector clip is being disengaged from the body. Each clip tooth includes an engaging end that is complementarily interfittable with grooves in the conduit, keeping the conduit in place.

  • Patent number: 8607827
Abstract: A low profile downspout extension is formed in multiple segments including a flexible conduit, a splash block and an extension. The splash block transitions from a circular inlet into a low profile pentagon configuration with a central bead along the top surface of the low profile body portion to define an apex of the pentagon shape. The body portion is wider than the diameter of the circular inlet but has a height at the central bead that is more than half the diameter of the circular inlet. The body portion has ribbed side walls to strengthen the splash block without requiring internal reinforcement. The bottom surface of the splash block defines a flow path that extends generally linearly from the bottom of the inlet opening to the bottom of the pentagon-shaped outlet. An open configuration for the splash block provides an alternative above-ground splash pad structure for connecting to downspouts.

  • Patent number: 8602066
Abstract: A low profile downspout extension is formed in multiple segments including a flexible conduit component, a splash block component and an extension component. An adapter is selectively connectable to the inlet portion of the flexible conduit component to allow mounting to a small downspout. The splash block component transitions from a circular inlet into a low profile rectangular configuration with an internal weir that prevents a back-flow of water into the circular portion. The low profile rectangular sections are formed with ribbed side walls and a crowned top surface to provide strength without requiring reinforcement. The flexible conduit portion includes a rectangular inlet, a circular outlet and a corrugated central portion that allows the selective orientation of the inlet relative to the outlet. The adapter includes a deflectable attachment tab that locks into an attachment rib on the inlet portion of the flexible conduit component.

  • Patent number: 8308201
Abstract: A fitting incorporating a crimp sealing device and a method of forming a seal between a length of corrugated tubing and the fitting are provided. A sealing crimp is formed over at least one corrugation of the tubing, where the sealing crimp can utilize a preformed bend or bulge to form a crimp and seal. Alternatively, the sealing crimp can apply pressure radially against an outer sleeve of the fitting, such that at least one corrugation of the tubing is compressed axially or radially to form a primary seal. The outer sleeve also can include one or more gaskets arranged between the outer sleeve and the tubing for forming a secondary seal. An inner sleeve can be received radially inside the outer sleeve, and one or more gaskets can be arranged between the inner sleeve and the tubing. Further, a jacket crimp can be applied against an end of the sleeve member to contact a jacket that at least partially covers the tubing.

  • Patent number: 8210573
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for joining similar pieces of plastic pipe includes using the shape memory of the pipe pieces to slightly deform a “female” end to permit insertion therein of a non-deformed male end. The deformation is sufficient to permit the insertion but not so large as to preclude the substantially complete “recovery” of the female end's shape and size, using the “shape memory” of the pipe material. Embodiments include, without limitation, single-walled (or mono-walled) pipe, pipe formed from multiple material layers, corrugated pipe, flat-walled pipe, and others. Preferred tools and apparatus are disclosed for stretching the female end and maintaining the desired stretch during transportation and storage, for sealing the joint (via adhesive/sealant, flange gasket, O-ring, or the like), and for further protecting the resulting joint.
