Abstract: A spring extension tool comprises a tool body and a tool positioning member. The tool body has two spaced apart fingers at a first end thereof and a lever attachment structure adjacent a second end thereof. The spaced apart fingers define a channel therebetween. Abstract: A transmission gear selector including a pivotal shift lever with a grip portion and an attachment structure that is operably coupled to an automatic transmission for shifting the transmission. A locking member pivots with the shift lever and is moveably engageable with an engagement surface that defines a park position detent. When the locking member is engaged with the park position detent, the shift lever cannot be moved out of the park position. The mechanical linkage includes a driver-operated member which, when actuated, causes the mechanical linkage assembly to bias the locking member out of engagement with the park position detent. A solenoid disposed within the grip portion is coupled with the mechanical linkage assembly and includes a plunger that can prevent the mechanical linkage from biasing the locking member out of the park position detent. An installation method for a gear selector is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7240741
Abstract: Sweep retaining structure includes a spring wire retainer with a base supported in a groove on the underside of the wedge support which mates with a stem portion of the sweep. The wedge support is apertured, and a central curved portion of the retainer passes through the aperture and supports a sweep-contacting end above the surface of the wedge support. The end is biased toward a contact area on the sweep to engage the area and eliminate sweep loss problems by preventing the sweep from slipping downwardly from the mounted position. To remove the sweep, a tool is inserted through the slot to depress the retainer end, and the sweep is forced off the wedge support. A raised area on the sweep directs soil away from the retainer and contact area to reduce wear and eliminate depression of the end during operation. The underside of the raised area positions the wire end and provides bend-resisting support for the wire.

Abstract: A tool installs barb emitters in irrigation tubing. The tool has a cradle which receives irrigation tubing and a punch mounted opposite the cradle. The punch has a first cylinder and a second cylinder telescopically received within the first cylinder. The first cylinder has a cap at the upper end and an annular ring extending inwardly from to partially occlude the lower end. The second cylinder includes a second cap at the upper end which slidably engages the first cylinder and is resiliently urged by a spring against the annular ring. The cap has a punch holder extending downwardly therefrom. A needle has a sharp tip extending downwardly from the punch holder through the second cap to a point within the second cylinder when the spring is fully extended and beyond the second cylinder when the spring is fully compressed. One of the jaws has a knife blade extending from the other end thereof opposite. The of the jaws defines a semi-circular concave anvil at the other end.

  • Patent number: 7082662
Abstract: A sectional flooring installation device allows carpet installation teams to quickly remove and install sectional carpeting in locations that have multitudes of the bookshelf assemblies, for example, libraries. The sectional flooring installation device includes a bridge assembly, a lifting device, a bearing plate, and a transfer unit to raise supports for bookshelf assemblies. The bridge assembly spans the tile, the transfer unit engages a vertical support, and the lifting device displaces the transfer unit relative to the bridge assembly to free pinned tiles or broad loom carpet sections. Once a pinned tile or carpet section is removed, a replacement tile may be installed. Use of the sectional flooring installation device essentially eliminates the requirement of removing bookshelf assemblies, reinstalling the bookshelf assemblies, and realigning the bookshelf assemblies after installation of the carpet. Accordingly, installation cost will decrease when using the sectional flooring installation device.

Abstract: A cutting edge cart is disclosed that provides an improved means for replacing the replaceable cutting edges on bladed equipment such as road graders and snow plow. The cart allows a single user to retrieve, transport, and position a replacement cutting edge relative to a mold board of the bladed equipment. Generally, the cart contains a frame, two or more transport assemblies attached to the frame, such as wheels, a movable carrier assembly that contains a cutting edge support assembly, and an adjuster. The adjuster is operable to move the carrier assembly between first and second positions relative to the frame allowing the vertical position of a supported cutting edge to be adjusted. The frame and transport assemblies are disposed such that the cart may be rotated or pivoted from a first generally vertical position to a second generally horizontal position.

  • Patent number: 6957476
Abstract: A sweep removal tool includes a pair of claws with angled surfaces conforming to the top edge of the sweep stem to locate the tool and help distribute sweep removal impact forces. A retainer depressor centered below the claws moves the retainer to a release position and slides between the angled surfaces during sweep removal. The depressor shape assures desired tine contact, even when the sweep is at an extreme position in the range of possible mounted positions, while preventing damaging contact as the depressor moves relative to the retainer during sweep removal. A curved surface extends between the claws and the depressor and facilitates free pivoting of the tine about the claw contact points to depress the retainer. The tool bottoms against the sweep when the depressor is moved to the release position to prevent retained damage from removal impact forces.
