  • Patent number: 8137379
Abstract: A pressure-applying device (PAD) (10) that is attached to a selected location on a person's skin for therapeutic purposes. The PAD (10) comprises a first handle (12) having an articulated arm (38) with a tip (40) and a second handle (66) having an integral arm (92) with a tip (94). The first handle (12) is swively attached to the second handle (66) at a spring-loaded pivot point that allows the device (10) to be pressure-attached to the skin. A magnetic or non-magnetic sphere (132) is attached to each respective tip (40,94). When the PAD (10) is attached to a person's skin the sphere is pressure-interfaced on the skin. A tension screw (46) interfaces with the two handles (12,66) and allows the PAD (10) to apply adjustable pressure. The locations on person's skin where the PAD (10) is attached are designated according to traditional acupressure techniques.

  • Patent number: 8087138
Abstract: A bead crimping tool for crimping a bead element and method for use, wherein the tool includes a base handle, a crush plate member, a pair of opposed pincer members, an actuator handle, and a crush arm member. The bead element is placed on the crush plate and preferably secured in place by the crush arm. Crimping the bead includes squeezing of the actuator handle. During a first portion of such actuation, a cam portion of the actuator handle cases the pincer members to impart a lateral compressive force to a lateral portion of the bead element sufficient to collapse the bead element in a lateral direction. During a subsequent second portion of the single actuation cycle, the crush arm is caused to impart a longitudinal compressive force about a top portion of the bead element sufficient to compress the collapsed bead element in a longitudinal direction.

The handle includes a radially extending heat treated projecting pointed pin spaced from the pivot axis of the handle to downwardly engage the end of a broken bolt in a sickle bar to force the bolt downwardly out of the sickle bar when the handle is pivoted toward the sickle bar.

  • Patent number: 6775892
Abstract: A tool to install a retaining ring into a groove in a cylinder has a handle lever which carries an adjustable gripper constructed to engage the cylinder and a compressing lever constructed to engage a portion of the retaining ring with the compressing lever pivotally and slidably connected to the handle lever permitting relative movement between the two levers. The connection between the handle lever and the compressing lever permits them to be separated and joined together in a fashion that facilitates engaging and compressing the retaining ring for insertion into the cylinder.

Abstract: Tool includes a fixed handle and a movable, lockable handle. A working end of the tool includes an upper jaw and a movable lower jaw. A passage may be provided in one or both of upper and lower jaws. A sealing device may be provided in the upper jaw, the sealing device being disposed adjacent to the passage. Lower jaw may likewise include a passage therein. In use, an elongated object such as a tube may be inserted into the passage in the lower jaw and then into the passage in the upper jaw adjacent the sealing device. When the lower jaw is engaged with the upper jaw, the lower jaw compresses the sealing device and sealingly engages the sealing device, the passage, and the tube disposed therein. In that manner, a seal is achieved. In the case where an opening having a coupling is fluidly connected to the upper jaw, a sealed, fluid connection may be established between the coupling on the upper jaw and the tube engaged by the seal.

Abstract: An electric cord connector kit is adapted for electrically connecting two electric cords together and includes a connector which is made of flexible material and a pinching device. The connector includes an insulating layer, a fastening member, which is enveloped in the insulating layer, having two spaced apart fastening arms adapted for receiving the two electric cords therebetween, and a plurality of protuberances integrally projected from inner peripheries of the fastening arms of the fastening member through the insulating layer. The pinching device is arranged to hold the connector in position and compress the connector in such manner that the protuberances are penetrated through sheaths of the electric cords so as to electrically connect two conducting wires of the electric cords via the fastening member.

  • Patent number: 6722006
Abstract: A seal ring tool that allows an installer to position a primary seal ring between hub ends of pipe flanges that are being assembled together. The tool includes a pivoting handle member and extension arms attached to the pivoting handle member. The ends of the arms have side indentation type longitudinal grooves angled toward one another for holding the primary seal ring in place between the hubs of respective pipes that are to be attached together. The arms of the tool can also have flat sides that can be used to abut against an optional second larger seal that is supported within a groove in one of the hub ends so that the second hub end can then be moved against the other side of the primary seal ring. Once the seal ring is positioned between the pipe hubs, the pipe hubs can be moved about the seal ring due to the flat sides of the arms of the tool. The tool eliminates the chances of damaging and contaminating seal rings being installed within pipe hubs that are being attached to one another.

Abstract: A method and an implementation equipment for fixing an elastic clamp band (1) to the lugs (5) particularly adapted for re-current mounting of a flexible connection pipe (12) on a pipe system (13). An automatic dispenser (2) of clamp bands (1) is arranged to position each clamp band (1) such that its two lugs are externally accessible to be seized by the grips (9, 52, 103) of a hand tool for extracting and fixing (8, 50, 100) which are brought together to compress the lugs (5) of the clamp band (1) by external (11) separately controlled actuators. The tool (8, 50, 100) comprises elements for bringing together the grips (9, 52, 103)) freely and reversibly when the external actuators (11) are activated and elements for releasing them instantly or gradually at the desired moment with an external control (14, 123).

Abstract: A tool is provided for removing a component from a fuel rail in an automotive fuel system. The tool has a pair of jaws connected to a pair of pivoting handles, which allow the jaws to be opened and closed. The jaws have an inner cavity shaped to conform to an outer surface of the component. A pair of release members are slidably mounted on an outer surface of the jaws. When the release members are moved relative to the jaws, rims on the release members contact a retention clip holding the component to the fuel rail. Contact between the rims and the clip causes the clip to disengage from a retention surface on the fuel rail, freeing the component.

The position lever has a ball joint on top for fitting a position member. The hook lever has its upper end formed with a hook facing the position member. The position member has a sleeve fitting and turning around the ball joint, and ratchet teeth provided on top. The pincers has two handles one of which has a groove and a blocking member at the lower end.
