Abstract: To efficiently assemble or manufacture a belt by fastening a plurality of elements in a circular manner using a ring. A belt assembling device is adapted to assemble a belt by fastening a plurality of plate-like elements juxtaposed in a same orientation and in a circular manner using a ring. The belt assembling device includes a holding member. The holding member holds the ring to which the elements are attached sequentially, in a manner to keep a curvature radius of the ring partially larger than that of the remaining portion. Therefore, the portion of the ring at which the curvature radius is thus kept larger can be twisted and deformed easily so that the element can be attached to the ring at the portion.

Abstract: A carrier that holds a plunger for a reciprocating pump during maintenance. Maintenance of the pump typically includes repacking of the packing that surrounds the plunger and revalving of the pump's inlet and outlet valve. To allow repacking or revalving, the pump is disassembled and the plunger is removed. The carrier mates with the pump to hold and support weight of the plunger during disassembly, allowing one person to perform pump revalving and repacking.

Abstract: Apparatus and methodology for performing precision rotational welding on the outside surface, and circumferentially around the long axis, of an elongate, hollow, tubular component. The apparatus includes an elongate frame, and plural, component-supporting, releasable-clamping yoke structures mounted on and distributed along the frame, including idlers defining an elongate, common, substantially horizontal rotational axis for a supported component, which common axis is designed to be substantially coincident with the long axis of such a component. With this apparatus, practicing the invention involves releasably clamping and horizontally supporting such a component for rotation on its long axis relative to the frame, and while so supporting a component, implementing selective rotation of it about its long axis, and performing precision rotational welding on and circumferentially around the surface of the supported component.

Abstract: A positioning device of a position sensor that does not require re-positioning and re-fastening at the time of mounting the position sensor. A positioning tool provided with a driving section and a positioning section is mounted on a position sensor. Then, positioning projections of the positioning section are engaged with neutral position grooves. In this state, the positioning section is rotated by the driving section so as to have the position sensor rotated together until the R-contact turns ON, so that an angle from N to R, i.e. from a neutral position to a reverse contact ON position is measured. Thereafter, the positioning section is rotated in an opposite direction to measure an angle from N to D, i.e. from a reverse contact OFF position to a drive contact ON position. Based on the measurement result, the positioning section is re-rotated by the driving section to move the position sensor to a proper neutral position. The position sensor is fastened in this condition.
