    Abstract: The present disclosure generally describes techniques suitable for use in the construction or recycling of composite materials, such as thermoplastics. A coated thermoplastic article may comprise a thermoplastic portion coupled to a supramolecular polymer interface layer, with a coating layer applied to a surface of the supramolecular polymer interface layer. Application of heat to the coated thermoplastic article may cause the supramolecular polymer interface layer to undergo a phase change, allowing the coating layer to be removed from the thermoplastic portion. Application of force to the coated thermoplastic article may enhance the removal of the coating layer. Embodiments of methods, compositions, articles and/or systems may be disclosed and claimed.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for removing copper from ferrous scrap are described. Some amounts of copper in ferrous scrap are removed by oxidation and subsequent mechanical impact of the oxidized scrap. Further removal of copper from the solid scrap can be achieved by fluxing the copper oxide below the melting point of ferrous scrap using CaO—SiO2—B2O3— and Na2O—SiO2—B2O3-based slags. Using the invention, copper can be removed from ferrous scrap in a natural, cost-effective, and environmental-friendly manner.

    Abstract: The present invention springs from the discovery that mild acids could be utilized to shear undesired metals away from desired precious metals that have been plated onto circuit board runners or contacts. This shearing action occurs at a high rate when metal scrap segments are immersed in mild acid and excited by application of an electromagnetic field at specific frequencies and power levels. These frequencies and power levels are based on the end metal desired and the metals contained in the scrap and the acid utilized. When mild acid saturated with copper sulfate and loaded with scrap metals is subjected to an electromagnetic field at the appropriate frequency and power levels, copper and nickel molecules are sheared rapidly and absorbed into solution, leaving only the desired metal, such as gold, in a 99.5% pure flake which can be skimmed off the surface of the solution or filtered from the solution.

In the method for recycling the printed circuit board, hot filtration equipment 4a and resin-metal separation equipment 51 are used in hot filtration process P400. The waste printed circuit board 1 is heated and force-filtered so that only the insulating material 1a pass through the filter. Then, the insulating material 1a and the metallic material 1b are separated and retrieved. It is preferred that the insulating body base 23 of the printed circuit board 100 as the waste printed circuit board is made of thermoplastic resin or a mixture of thermoplastic resin and inorganic loading material.

The process is carried out in an oven which contains a series of trays, and wherein circulates a heating gas. The upper surface of the oven has the shape of an inverted cone, with an orifice at the apex through which passes its axis. The heavy fraction of the pyrolysis drains therethrough and is collected separately from the aluminum.
