  • Patent number: 10953500
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a tubular component including rough machining the exterior surface of a solid billet 1 to reduce the size thereof and form two flanges. An axial blind bore 6 is then machined in the billet 1, after which a probing operation is carried out on the interior surface of the bore 6 in order to check the concentricity. A straightening operation is then performed on the billet in order to reverse any curvature along the longitudinal axis. A further machining operation is then performed on the outside to reduce the wall thickness of the bore before measuring the wall thickness of the bore 6 around the circumference of the billet 1 at least at two different axial positions. The billet 1 is then checked again and a final machining operation is then performed in order to form any ports and upstands which are required.

The implant is preferably made of titanium via a cold-production process, which requires initially supplying a rapid prototype from a CAD model that corresponds to a plastic mold, which is covered with commercially available adhesive tape, in order to obtain another model that makes it possible to form the model that will be transferred to titanium, thus reducing the ideal temperature for molding same.

  • Patent number: 8769800
Abstract: A process for making spare parts for refiners used for producing paper, in particular for making refiners for preparing paper pulps, where the pulp enters at one end and exits on the other side, passing through a rotary body or rotor or male component equipped with bars (or grooves) and a casing or stator or female component bearing fixed counter-bars. This process includes mechanical machining of unmachined sectors; routing or mechanical machining of the machined sectors to obtain a set of bars or grooves or holes; putting together the cone (rotor or stator by joining all of the sectors to the supporting flanges; mechanical machining (turning and grinding) to finish the cone; and balancing of the rotor or stator.

Abstract: A method for machining a metallic member to provide a finished appearance, the method uses a lathe and a scraping process. A metallic member includes a top portion and a peripheral sidewall, is positioned on the worktable. The worktable is rotated with the metallic member, the lathe tool reciprocates to machine the top portion of the rotary metallic member circumferentially. The lathe tool is moved along a predetermined path relative to the worktable by the moving device to machine curved surfaces of the top portion of the metallic member. The scraping cutter is moved to contact the peripheral sidewall of the metallic member. The scraping cutter is moved along a predetermined path, and the scraping cutter is fed the metallic member to achieve the required shape and finish.

  • Publication number: 20140165372
Abstract: A method for machining and finishing a metallic member to provide a finished product without any additional process uses a lathe and a milling process. A non-circular metallic member on a worktable is rotated, and lathe tool moved backwards and forwards to machine the peripheral top portion of the metallic member. The path of the lathe tool machines curved surfaces of the top portion of the metallic member. The rotation of the metallic member is then stopped, and a milling cutter is brought to meet the peripheral sidewall of the metallic member. The movement and feeding of the milling cutter is predetermined. The worktable rotates the metallic member to enable one end edge of the peripheral sidewall and then another to face the milling cutter, and have the end edge chamfered by the milling cutter.

  • Patent number: 8707541
Abstract: A method of roughening metal surfaces of a workpiece such as a cylinder bore of an internal combustion engine to improve the adhesion of layers thermally sprayed thereon. Uniform grooves are formed in the surface and ridges are arranged between the grooves. The grooves may be formed by a process such as turning, drilling, milling or rolling. The ridges are plastically deformed in order to form undercuts in the grooves, with the degree of plastic deformation of the ridges varying regularly in the longitudinal direction of the grooves. Local deformations are produced in the ridge, and these bring about regular undercuts in the groove. This makes it possible to produce the undercuts in identical dimensions with little effort. Furthermore, since the groove is now not completely constricted by undercuts, it can be filled more effectively with spraying material.
